Nitrous question....

Hey guys, been a while since I have been on here,I was wondering whats the highest possible dry shot of nitrous I can use on my max with no aftermarket f.p.r,I have an intake, budget y pipe,str8 catback with apex n1 2.5 inch diameter, and a centerforce clutch on its way, with an underdrive pulley from unorthadox. Also what do you think my new e.t. would be on 215 drag radials 50 profile on a 15 inch rim would be with a max shot of nitrous for stock f.p.r. and all my mods.I got my income taxes and I went mod crazy.....thanks

I think your confusing an aftermarket FPR with an aftermarket fuel pump. You don't need an aftermarket FPR, or fuel pressure regulator unless you have an upgraded fuel pump, and even then you can get away with the stock FPR, your fuel pressure will just be a few psi above spec NA. With a stock fuel pump, I personally wouldn't run above about a 60-65 shot, but I upgraded my fuel pump before going over a 50 shot. You run the risk of the fuel pump not being able to supply enough fuel, which = lean = bye bye motor. I would also recommend NOT using a centerforce clutch on the maxima, as I have seen repeated failures from them. Get an ACT. With a 50 shot and the rest of those mods, depending on your driving, you should be able to get low 14's. You should also have a window switch on your nitrous system, especially since your 5spd. Good luck.

You can run about a 60 shot on stock pump/reg. If you go higher, the stocker combo can't keep up and you will run lean as mtrai said.

As for times, it really depends on conditions/driver. Everything held equal, you should see 14's with a 60 shot and your mods. Also as mtrai suggested, the ACT clutch has given members much better results than some of the others. Check around and get first hand accounts. I know that Nismo2020, Jay25, Ramius83, and many others have run ACT before. Ask them what they thought.

Just a suggestion.

I think I made this post to complicating..

Sorry for making it complicating guys, but I have ran a 14.8@91mph with a pop charger, and lowereD.Then everything else stock with a 60 shot and a dead clucth I ran a 14.3@98mph,I had an act but I blew my tranny never ran at the track with it,thats why I want to go centerforce,(act=too strong),mods im adding now are the drag radials, higher shot hopefully if FPR alows me to,crank pulley and the y-pipe with the clucth,I should break in the the mid thirteens from what I last ran...so now thats its a little more clearer what do you guys think?...also I have ran a 85 shot BEFORE but not at the track, never had a problem...I have a dry kit if you were wondering.

To get in the mid 13's, you will need more than a 60 shot. More like 100 shot. Really with your mods you are right where you should be, low 14's.
