Confessions of a Nitrous Junkie

Secrets of the bad idle revealed.

Plug #3 after excessive abuse. Stock heat range, 17º of base timing, gobs of nitrous, a 9000+ RPM mis shift and a dangerously lean condition. I've seen worse.

I should have changed this five months ago when it happened. But lately the idle has been geting worse. Seems to be all clear now.

I am installing a 75 shot NX kit soon and wanted to know which plugs to get and what to gap them to.

Leave them alone or get one step colder. A 75 isn't a big deal. But do not change the gap.

Should I get the copper or platinum one step colder?

That depends on who you ask. My experience with Nissans is that they run like CRAP on anything other than platinum.

I got the normal platinum ones in my car. I changed them about 1k miles ago and now I will need to buy new ones.

For a small 75 shot you should leave them alone.

So I can run the plugs I have now, or go colder for safety?

Yes, go colder when you plan to go to 100 or more. Your stock heat range is fine for now.
