prepping for nitrous?

i am installing the nx wet kit with a friend on tuesday and was wondering if there is anything I need to do to my car before i do. Things I have already done:

-New spark plugs NGK BRK5E (these the right ones?)
-New fuel filter
-Oil change

car is a 99 with 44,000 miles. I am only starting out at a 35 shot. thanks.

If you have not already, purchase an EGT gauge and a Fuel Pressure gauge. You will wantto bump up the shot.

The miscellaneous things I needed were:

Additional wire
Male and female butt splices
Drill to mount the nozzle
Copper plugs, one step colder
Soldering iron for better connections.
Scout out a place to mount the solenoids
Take your time, the first time you install the kit it may seem like it is pretty involved however, it is pretty straightforward. Give yourself a good day to install it so you can take your time.

If you do get a Fuel pressur egauge you will need ad'l fuel line as well as some assorted brass fittings found at your local Home Depot or hardware store.

Also, I would go to the NX site and print out the instructions there as they are better than the instructions found in the packaging.

Also, look to get a bottle heater and a purge valve.

Any other questions please post.

I already have egt guage and oil temp guage. I will be purchasing a fuel pressure guage very shortly. would I need a mechanical guage or electrical? I bought the kit used, only a few weeks old, used once. the person who had it is helpinbg with the install and he has done it before.

For the much smaller shots a A/F is better than EGT. But it's best to have them both for the bigger shots.

egt and a/f is ghey. I have both. I would rather save my dough, shell out a few more and get a wideband or a greddy egt. Ugly, but accurate as *****.

I have both and from what I have seen it's best that way. The A/F gives you the very quick readings and the EGT gives you the longer term readings.

Thats true, but do you get signal after 3400 rpm with the a/f?
