Narrowed it down to EGT/Boost/FP via Autometer Phantom.....help an idiot out.

Man the world of boost can get confusing for a guy who knows nothing about it. My SC is on it's way and I desperately need to order gauges to get here ASAP. EGT/FP/BOOST are all I need for safety and is what i'll start out with. The Autometer phantom series are in white so they match my SE gauge cluster and will look pretty.

1)Click HERE for the boost gauges. Which one should I get?

2)Click HERE for fuel pressure gauges. Which one should I get?

3)Click HERE for EGT gauges. Which one should I get?

Why do they have to come in different sizes? Now I need a double pod pillar and a single bolt on pod so I can have the 3 in the window.

Life in the fast lane is hard.

Boost: Part No: ATM-5703

Fuel Pressure: Part No: ATM-5763

EGT: Part No: ATM-5744

Why you buying the gauges from here? Try Jegs, might be cheaper.

Boost: Get 5701, as it only goes to 20psi instead of 30psi like the 5703 does... I guess it depends on your plans, but if you're going to build your engine, you can upgrade a 50$ guage.

Fuel: see cumalot's post

EGT: see cumalot's post

The gauges make up a big part of going boost price wise it seems. Every time people are looking for gauges it is usually a few hundred on that alone.

I'm just going to get the boost and EGT gauges.
Here are the prices (Canadian) I got locally:

2 gauge pod = $38.00
Boost gauge #5703 = $77.81
EGT gauge #5744 = $193.84

Yeah.

Well, I just called that place and placed the order. Those three phantom gauges will be at my doorstep tuesday afternoon.

I am gonna search the org for info on gauge pillars and pods, if anyone knows of a good one for me, please post.

Wow, prices are better at summitracing.com or jegs.com. They have free shipping too.

For the Autometers, you might consider getting ones with the Hi-Lo feature. That way you can check the range of measurements and properly tune your car.

I think Craig meant gauge pod. There are also pods that go on top of the dash but there's nothing made specifically for the Maxima. I thought of going the DIN route but the gauges will be out of view when driving and so I picked up the Autometer gauge pod last night.

Yeah I was talking about the dual gauge pod. Everyone is out of stock so I'm gonna go with the same company I ordered my gauges from or hopefully someone here will have a spare one

autometer boost gauges suck {from my own personal experience}

i switched to an SPI boost gauge. the difference is amazing
no boost changes via hks evc ez

auto meter gaueg
14 psi
spi 12 psi

vacuum autometer
14
spi
20

no changes, just the gauge.
autometer phantom gauge actually.

vdo makes a pretty good egt gauge, its what im runnin inthe tsi right now

fuel pressure. its pretty much an open market. i would suggest one that goes to at least 100 psi. {for reason being, maybe built motor and 20+ in the future}
why get something you're going to have to change later due to limitation factors.

D'oh! Bryan said the Autometer boost gauge sucks. Will I be ok? Will it read boost amounts and what-not correctly? I plan on running the 3.125.

The SPI gauge is kind of plain and ugly. Do any companies make good looking boost gauges that read PSI and InHg? All the Japanese gauge manufacturers have metric measurements.

the Apexi gives you the psi and hg readings. I recommend the Apexi gauges they are well worth the money. If you guys want to save $30-$40 then thats on everyone you can get them from www.gruppe something like that just do a search and it will come up for not so expensive price.

Cool, I fond the Apex'i that shows psi\Inhg, but it's a 60mm gauge (2 5/8"). Since most of us are using 52mm (2 1/16") gauges, they won't match, but maybe that doesn't matter. I'm thinking of getting a single 60mm gauge pod for the Apex'i, and a double gauge pod for the 52mm Autometer EGT and fuel pressure gauges.
