Can you weld brass to steel?
I need to weld a brass fitting onto my S/C intake pipe so I can hook up the vaccum hoses for my VI.
Just wanted to know if it was possible to mis brass with steel.
Any chemistry majors wanna offer advice?

I have VI and SC, no fitting welding was needed? Can you elaborate?

I'm adding a NOS dry kit.

How do you have your VI hooked up?.. Jeff didn't hook mine up when he did my S/C install. I don't have the extra time to go back and he's always busy.
This is the next best and easiest way.

I was talking with Jeff today about your VI. He said you can wire it the way I did and it wouldn't be a problem.. I'm gonna do my bov welding on Thurs @ 9am.. Maybe I'll tell him to drill a hole and weld that fitting on since he'll have my pipes off.

NO
You cannot weld brass to steel. You can braze it with the proper silver though. There are nitrous fittings that will allow you to put a nozzle in without welding.
You also need to (if you havn't already) consider that a dry system will put an additional strain on your fuel system. This can cause you to run lean and have MAJOR engine problems including blowing it.
A wet kit is safer. You can buy a couple extra parts and convert a dry kit to a wet kit. I did it and it worked well. I ran 12psi and 125hp nitrous this way. Most likely your fuel system won't support 125hp nitrous, but if it's a wet kit you will be able to do it.

Thanks for the info though.
