tightening of bov..

I have a blitz bov on my max right now and I wanted to know if there is any effect on performance depending on how loose/tight it is adjusted ? Is there any way to tell when it is adjusted properly? My tunning is not based on "how cool and Loud" it can be. Just looking for maximum performance. Anyone have an answert or special way you adjust yours let me know thanks in advance.

I don't think it affects WOT performance, as long as the bov stays closed under boost pressure.

But if you increase the preload, the bov will close sooner as you approach boost levels in the intake system. So you can affect partial throttle performance by tightening the bov.

Thanks for the info. Tonight I found that adjusting the screw does some how effect the boost from 1 to 2 psi. Anyway, I ran a moded srt4 tonight running 16 psi with exhuast , injectors, ecu upgrade. Won by about a fender, not too bad! Ran up too 130mph. IM not even tuned. Nobody will probably read this...

any bad affect of having BOV completely tight? I made mine almost fully tight in fear that making it all the way tight may hurt something since like no air flows out when idle, but when i rev up or drive a little, massive air sometimes comes out of the BOV....

You can get one off of ebay for $195 shipped.
I just found out why I wasnt seeing 9spi. Intake manifold was coming loose and gasket started poping out. I tighened the biatch up and perfect. So this leak kinda prompted the idea of the bov question. problem solved.

ga dayum, your intake manifold was coming loose? wouldnt that affect like a lot of performance? since all the work is done within the walls of the manifold?

with 9psi you can expect 14.0 - 14.3
and yes my intake manifold was loose and pushing the gasket out leaking about 1 psi. I just love how the price on the mevi got raised by $50
