Because unlike some peeps on here, i was aware enough to know my limits and getting into diff flanges and hybrid turbos was just over my head. And i decided to use that money for more NA mods while i looked into researching the whole turbo thing further. I need something a bit simpler like a stillen v2 kit. I basically wasnt ready for it at that point and decided to opt out.

Your sentiment is comforting guys,... My max is for sale at autolenders of Williamstown NJ phone# 888-529-3508. Just if you buy her, shoot me a PM,.. I will feel better Knowing that one of you buy her.
Side note:
if you guys still buy the kit, I will be more than happy to share my knowledge as I always have. just cause she's gone doesnt mean she is gone in vain. I will continue to share ALL my tricks to pull more ponies out of this kit that I used.
Anyways guys i really do appreciate the support you have all shown in this time of sadness for me. I will still post here.
Note to you doubters of this kit: I will tell you she (the max) was faster than the z I have now for sure!!!!! trust me I should know. ( I Checked speed/time and the result was the Z is slower)
Tip: on the inlet of the t-28 turbo, change the intake pipe ( the one the maf attaches to) go to pepboys or wherever and get the 3 inch intake duct tube ( like 20 bucks). run the tube to the bottom side of the car. Attach a bracket to the Maf bolts and on the lower front support (keep your splash guard on) . Here i use a 7/16 self tapping screw (its just easier, trust me). This made a signifigant power difference over the 2 inch flex tube that comes with the kit. Set your boost rpm setting to 4200,... you will hit boost around 5100. This will allow you to have a much cleaner acceleration curve. Increase your injector phasing by .2 on all psi settings above 4psi (it wont run rich, its enough Phasing to compensate for the bigger 3 inch inlet).
Definitely I highly recommend the 4 inch Naca duct for this kit if you are running 8psi or higher, It will reduce under hood temp by 47 degrees. Yes i did thermometer it. you want it roughly 4 inches from the throttle body (refer to my cardomain page for pictures). it also cools the charge piping even when you run it hard.
Also invest in a 3 inch cat back exhaust,.. the OBX one will do just fine.

I have been talking to Jason at Turbo Specialties and I was talking to him about getting the kit without the tuning system/turbo timer/additional injector controller/ etc and a GT3076R turbo and he said the kit would be $2300.
#333
so with a gt3076r just guess this kit will be good for 240-250whp at 10psi, considering the standard kit made around 220whp at 10psi

To add to this, 10psi is where this kit is most efficient. This takes a good advantage of the t-28 (yes I did finally tune it to 10 psi before the tranny went). makes sure your tranny is beefed up a bit before you tune it.

Ahh, you miss the max. I would love to have a Z but there is so much I would miss about my max. Having both would be perfect.
I hope others experiment with this kit also, I believe it has good potential.

A mistake a learnt a long time ago. Never sell your maxima. You will want it back.
Unfortunately the idiot I sold mine to totalled it. So I'm currently building a new one. Supercharged. Loving it![Smilie](https://maxima.org/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
I have a bit of empathy for you doc. I am surprised that with the effort you put forth, and good intentions to be the "crash test dummy" on this kit that people weren't more supportive of you.
Good on you for giving it a go, that's what counts.

Thank you guys!!!!
This kit with the advice and solutions I have given WILL give the performance you want. ask anyone who has ridden in my car ( northeast thread) and they will tell you it seemed my car was always in boost. With a bit bigger intercooler and a GT2871 turbo (you don't need high HP #'s and big turbos to go fast; you just have to run the turbo efficiently), with the mods I had done, this car could have eaten the doors off of quite a few monsters on the road. I am in hopes All who get this kit will heed my advice and use the techniques I gave to get their max's where they want them to be. I am still on the org for those who need support with the kit. Let me know through PM if you guys need anything with your builds I will be glad to help.
Make sure you automatics get your trannies check'd out first and foremost HEHEHEHEH!!!

I will. I am going to order the parts today. I am just getting the manifold, downpipe, crossover pipe, and motor mount. I have an emanage, turbo, wastegate, blow off valve, fuel pump, intercooler, and intercooler piping sitting around. I will definately be in touch.

Im looking for some advice. I decided to go ahead and see what I could get out of this kit and I bought the manifold, crossover pipe, downpipe, and motor mount. I already had a T3/T04E turbo so that is what I decided to use. It took a while for them to make the parts, of which I am still waiting for the motor mount, but they came the other day. I ordered a T25 to T3 inlet adpater flange while I was waiting for the kit fo arrive. I finally got them so I could test fit the parts and I am having trouble figuring out how to get the adapter flange to fit. It has where you thread the bolt into on the bottom of the flange that mate to the T25 flange on the manifold and where you thread the T3 bolts on the top of the flange that mate to the turbo. The only issue is that there is no way to get a bolt into the T25 part of the manifold or flange. You would normally thread the bolt in and tighten it down, however the threaded areas to do not go completely through the flange of manifold. They are both dead ends basically. I am not sure if I am making any sense, but I took pictures to illustrate what I mean. I am not sure if this should go in another thread, but I thought I would post it here first.
Here are the pictures:

Is there any way to just weld the flanges together? Should I just sell the T3 and but a gt3071r?

I finally got a chance to measure the down pipe on this kit and it is only 2". That may have been a reason why Doc's dyno numbers were so low. Also, you cannot use an adapter flange with the kit.
#354
***EDIT*** Are you talking about the down pipe coming off the turbo??? because if so I take back what I said 2" is just ridiculously small for a downpipe. I wouldn't do anything less then 3". I am running a 3inch down pipe into a 2.5 then out the side with no muffler. No restriction!

OK, good. When I read what you wrote I was a little shocked. LOL. I am getting a 3" elbow made which will separate the gases from the turbo and the wategate and then when the turbo and motor mount show up I am going to have everything mocked up so that the downpipe can be made into a 3". I just gotta make sure there is room. Thank you so much for answering my questions.

Yea, I didn't think about that. I mean I might as well try while the car is apart. I just have to find a place around here that does mandrel bends. Would a Meineke be able to help me out? Also, just to let you know, I am going with 2.5" intercooler piping. I am starting to mock that up today.

98% of those quicky exhaust shops only have a crush bender. Find a place that does custom exhaust work for hotrods, or just start calling around. It's not going to be cheap. Good luck.
