I am currently wating for my new JWT chip. They can sometimes take forever. They wanted my injectors claiming deatschwerks injectors never flow what their charts say and I told them to make the program off of the flow chart anyways. I did finally get the 3 inch exhaust on and the car feels MUCH faster but it sounds like crap. I guess thats the hit I have to take. As soon as the chip is installed I will redyno; provided the chip works correctly without them testing my injectors.

Its Iansw's original 3 inch exhaust. I believe the b pipe is custom (mandrel bent) and the muffler is a dynomax super turbo. I hate the sound, but love the power. I just leave my music up and then I can't hear it lol
#44
You should add a resonator, like a 24" magnaflow, that will make it sound alot nicer, get rid of the raspy sound, wont hurt airflow since its straight through. Goodluck
#45
Get in on Cattman's 3" exhaust! and choose the resonator option (can be swapped out with straight pipe for dyno days/track nights) Upon delivery, sell your old setup. Done deal. No more crappy sound, and maybe it will flow better too.

The Dynomax Superturbo is the reason why it sounds crappy. Seriously i had one, and it made my exaust sound terrible. Just get a good 3" Vibrant muffler, IMO sounds wayyyy better..
Nice setup man! Im definately waiting for updated numbers!

Trust me, the 2.87 is PLENTY of power. When you can lose the tires in third gear theres no need for more power.

you're wrong for that sig. LOL

Time for some drag radials. Some 275 Nittos should help a lot.

I already did the ARP rod bolts and I have the rev limiter extended to 7200. However, I have yet to find a race where I needed the extra rpms. The car sounds great and runs great when the a/f is right. I am still waiting to hear back from Jim Wolf

Here is a better question...why the hell would you want to running smaller than a 2.62 pulley? A 3.0 with a 2.87 and extended rev-limiter is already starting to over-rev the S/C. To be honest, if you want more than 13-14psi...you gonna have to start looking down the turbo road...

Well I finally got around to installing my boost gauge and the max I am seeing is 4-5 psi at redline. Do ya'll with superchargers have to tighten the belt every month or two? I am currently running this belt: 68.5" because this belt: 69" could not tighten enough to make 8 psi without rubbing. When I changed the belt I also cut off the post for the bracket directly under the blower pulley. We have had a lot of snow, maybe the belt has stretched from rough climate changes!? Oh, and when I see 13.5 psi on the boost gauge, I will take a little video from in cabin.

Even when Ian has this S/C and had to do a belt change, we'd always seem to have some sort of tweaking to do with the belt to get things to stay consistent.

Wasnt he using the V2 mounting plate? The only time Ive heard of people having belt issues was due to that plate. I only had to tighten my belt up once, and that was shortly after having a new belt go on. It seems that it streched a little after driving for a while. After that, havent had any more belt issues.

Well if your intercooled to get more boost back, also with a smaller pulley boost will come on sooner. No one is saying you have to take it to 7200. With a smaller pulley 6500 should be nice enough, especially with boost coming on sooner.

So I was able to tighten it up and the highest I saw was 9-10 psi. I could feel the belt slip and power going up and down until 6000rpms where it started to fall. I tightened it again and I dont know how it will do until I drive it tomorrow, but it should hit that 13 mark. Oh, and I spin third.......

Ah, best of both worlds.

So I have been looking at methanol injection. Are any of you boosted guys running methanol/water injection? This is the kit I have been thinking about: AEM I am about to go drive the car and find out if I have finally got the boost/belt issue figured out. I also haven't heard anything from JWT yet.
#75
Are you getting any knock? If not, that will really only help you if you have a way to adjust your timing. Meth injection allows you to run more timing, but you have to have a way to adjust it. JWT = no go.
#76
Zack I'm not a fan of JWT because I think you can figure out how to do more with the car. I know JWT would be a set it and forget it, but you can't really tweak the car after that. I know you had a bad experience with the emanage, but I would just get a brand new one and go from there. Just about any modification you do will change the jwt tune. If you changed injectors or something just change the lag time and you're done, with JWT you would have to send the ecu back and let them figure it out without actually driving the car.

So I just went out and took it for a spin. I am only making 10psi and thats around 5000-5500 rpms and it never goes above. The belt is really tight and I am afraid to tighten it any more than it already is. During the drive I found a new Saleen S281 Supercharged and we had some fun. He won but never put distance between us, his rear bumper was at my door. I had a 10.5 a/f in 2nd gear and a 9.5 in 3rd. Whats up with only hitting 10 psi with a 1 month old gatorback and a 2.87 pulley!?!? Should I get one from gates?

edit: I just looked dude, the thing only runs a mid 12, =/ might as well give me the 3.5 =]

IMO, I doubt the Gates will fare any better.
