Looking into building a Vq30 engine for boost. Curious to see who else did. It and what kind of turbo setups you have, what kind of internals, the whole 9 yards. Please let me know. Very interested...

I'm running stock internals with my setup, i bought a "kit" from someone here on the org, they collected parts over time intending to run it on their 4th gen, but ended up going SC. He had everything I needed, just needed to finish the feedpipe and downpipe. I drove the car to my buddys exhaust shop, we finished the feedpipe, mocked turbo up to finish downpipe, then I towed it to my buddy's house and finished everything else in his driveway.

Turbonetics t3/t04s (4" inlet) 60-1 .63ar, old school tial 40mm wastegate with 9psi spring, hallman pro boost controller, HKS ssqv bov, MEVI with the actuator ziptied open, greddy intercooler, all 3" intercooler piping, 2.5" stainless downpipe, took my warpspeed y-pipe and put a 180 bend on it to make a forward feedpipe to the turbo. Walbro 255 pump, 370cc injectors from z32 TT, z32 maf, SARD adjustable FPR, running innovate lc-1 wideband, JWT ecu with turbo tune and SAFC2 to keep the A/F in check (I'm too cheap for nistune lol). Installed the kit on my car @ 170k (engine had great compression and was babied it's whole life up until this point), been running 10psi daily and I saw 347whp on the dyno. The only dyno sheet I can find for any proof of power is when I had boost leak from my old greddy type s knockoff bov causing boost to drop to 6-7psi and rich conditions, and I hit 282whp.

I have some pictures uploaded to an album in my profile. I was going to do a build thread here, but I literally installed everything on a weekend I had off work, and didn't really have the time I wanted to spend on a proper build thread.

I have another vq30 on a stand that I am slowly tearing down and going to build for over 400whp. I plan to keep it simple by using using vq30det pistons and misc vq35 parts.

I just realized this was started in 2015. I figured it was active since it was on the first page of threads in the turbo/sc forums. Has this forum really died down that much?!

Sorry!

I was planning to do exactly that, but I ziptied it for the time being and just haven't gotten around to it. We all know how that goes right?

That's a bummer. Good thing it was around when I was setting mine up. There's a lot of useful and handy info here.

Check on Instagram if you haven't. There are still a great deal of serious Maxima performance guys on there. A lot of them can definitely help.
