is there anyone still here? if so please assist! if not that's fine this is where I'm gonna trauma dump the issues with my car


1991 maxima GXE 197 000km auto. having multiple issues. [1] my clock and [2] auto climate control control screen intermittently will display and at other times they will be super dim. I pulled them, gave them a clean. clock is now dim but readable (previously would be either full bright or nothing so I think this is an ok compromise). climate control initially showed at full brightness but it is more consistently super dim where it is not legible. i would love to get a replacement but its too old and we don't have this car in the junk yard anymore in Canada. any suggestions?

[3] the a/c and heat only is also intermittent. i took out the dash, center console, glove box. when i hit the blower motor (i am assuming the thing behind the glove box by the passenger's fee) the air will eventually work and when it does its ice cold a/c.

[4] i read somewhere if you have the auto feature I may not have a blower resistor? currently, when it does work, I feel like nothing is happening when it is on setting one. two and three i can here it increasing but it is not as strong as i remember. when it is on four full blast i feel like it is way stronger than the other settings but it is not as strong as I remember. i only drive this in the summer so maybe my memory. is it possible I need to replace both the blower motor and the blower resistor***(or whatever the part is suppose to be called for a max with the auto climate feature)

so many other things wrong with this car

[5] number pad doesn't work anymore assuming its an electrical thing

[6] window master switch only works on driver window, everyone else needs to open close there own window gonna pull this and try cleaning the switch

[7] need to replace the antenna mast but the motor is still good I hear it when I shut off the radio

[8] think I need new front end springs

[9] need my rear suspension looked into as well

[10] change the timing belt

[11] getting terrible mileage like 300km a full tank use to be maybe 450 or 500km a full tank? and I am using basic level premium 91 octane

[12] got to look into redoing the wipers again. feel like there is only one setting i probably screwed something up the first time I changed the wiper arm assembly

[13] passenger front door needs to be unlocked manually. it will lock when you lock driver side door. passenger will also lock all the doors. when open passenger with key it will only unlock that door, not the others like before

[14] no high beams hope it is just a relay

[15] sometimes the left and right additional lighting works when you signal, but more often it does not work

[16] when you signal left or right the front driver side headlight turns off. makes the car look new when you are turning left. makes car look broken when you turn right. if I pull the fuse for the passenger side head light it will not do this. i can signal left and right without the driver light going out. hope this is just a relay / basic issue

[17] cruise control button turns on, but in the cluster I do not see the cruise control light. hoping this is just a relay issue as well

[18] the power button under the ash tray does not light up. but it does for comfort. think this is a sign that the transmission is going

[19] transmission feels like it struggles when accelerating from a stop and like it holds onto gears / confused which gear to go into. just got the fluids changed 2 years ago so probably means the transmission is dying

[20] there are water droplets in the maxima name plate. probably my fault when I took it apart and did not reassemble it properly. I don't know why I did it I was curious the one time I changed the rear light bulbs. now looks like the maxima is crying

[21] make sure when i reinstall the alpine head unit I also provide power to aftermarket amp or else the subs won't turn on. Connect it to the factory Nissan amp located in the trunk area instead of to the head unit

[22] little bits of rust forming everywhere

[23] need a new muffler. flex pipe might need to be looked over again for leaks it was welded maybe 4 years ago but the car sounds loud again probably same issue
