Once you get past the pain of having to drill/cut into your fender then it's not hard. Some sidemarkers require a large center hole with two smaller screw holes, while other need a rectangular cutout and snap in for assembly. I would advise against wiring the lamps so that they turn on constantly. That is not what they were meant for. They are to provide additional warning to other drivers that you are going to make a direction change. Another term for these lamps are "side turn signal repeaters". If you wire them to come on constantly, you would only serve to be a nuisance to other drivers.

SINY-are you talking about the new Benz look w/ blinkers in the mirrors?

I have side markers. I ordered them from Nopi for $20 and i installed them myself. They took me about 1.5 hours. THe most pain in the *** part is measuring them on each side so they are level adn equal distance. I use strings and tape. I spent over 30 mins measuring. There are holes that will be there forever man!

I had to drill 3 holes in mine adn i tapped it into my turn signals.

yeah the benz mirrors!

i don't think the M3 style mirrors with the blinkers will fit as replacements on the max right? so i figure sticking on the side markers on the mirrors to make it look like that but i would have to mold them to kind of go along the curve. i don't doubt it took that long to measure. i wouldn't want to drive around one side higher or lower than the other! can you post a pic of your sidemarkers i'ld like to see how they look.

...wait a minute i'm a little lost you didn't install them on your mirrors right? you just put them on the sides like most normal people would do right?

Jules

thanks Synki!

Jules- Nah i didnt put them in my mirror.

You can do that if you carefully cut the shape out and the use fiberglass. It will work, just takes a long time. You should see what me adn my friend did. We intergrated Toyota Supra brake lights into his rollpan on his 97 F150. That took us a month!

I can get you some pictures, do you want me to email them to you or post them? I've been havin problems with photopoint and uploading them. Shoot me an e-mail and i get get em to ya. Synki@aol.com

Laterz!

I just ordered a pair of Cuzo euro sidemarkers. Looks pretty cool to me. When you order sidemarkers, are the bulbs included? I ask this because the site where I order from didn't say anything about including bulbs.

i want to do this

Synki

what did you do after you drilled the holes? (ACkk Heartattack) i think my main issue here is will they start to rust after a while? i would imagine you used touchup paint, but would touchup paint not do much?, doesn't screwing in the screws expose the bare metal again? or am i just way too paranoid about this? i want them i think it would look real nice. i wonder how expensive it would be to get my speedshop to install them. i'm not brave enough to drill into my baby, and though i can probobly handle this install me and electrical don't work well, i'm like water when it comes to working with electrical. i'm surprised i rewired my turn signals correctly

ohh cumalot, if its one thing i learned if they don't say it most likely it won't have it, but honestly i haven't seen performance anything that has to do with replacing lights not come with the replacement bulbs. its almost a given they'll come with the replacement bulbs, but most of the time they are the sh*tty painted bulbs that get messed up after a month.

SINYMaxSE: you're not the only one that worry about drilling into the fender for the side marker. Yes, please guys, if you have any good tips about installing a sidemarker, tell us. I just want to be sure so I won't mess up when I install it.

After drilling i used some touch up paint adn let it dried for a bit. I then just bolted it down. You can use some silicone to make sure it wont leak water. I havent had a problem till this day. I've had em on for around 5 months so far. A local shop by me does then for $75 installed w/ parts.

What is the best tool to cut a hole in the fender? Should I use a drill or is there a better way?

I think actually installing the markers INSIDE your factory mirrors would come out looking clean as hell.. just think of how ugly it would look to have 2 huge sidemarkers on your mirrors... can we say ghetto... do it inside and people will be like... wtf... lights in the mirrors.. damn

My personal opinion...idea.........

I have ordered the Eurolite Clear Euro Side Markers, and I'm going to put them on my lower back bumper on the side just like the Y2K Maximas, and the bumper is plastic,I don't feel confident drilling into the fender(metal)on the front of my car,I am going to wire them into my license plate lights so they will be park lights,on the back lower fender, and they will be mounted evenly with the front clear front bumper lenses, they come with a template and everthing, and if I mess up I will just have to buy another rear plastic bumper and get it repainted I should get them this week when I get them on I will post pics and let you see,so they will be mounted on the back lower part of the bumper and be wired as park lights only with easy access to changing the bulb.....Again just my idea........What do you think?

wow..

thats a pretty cool idea about putting it on the rear bumper. i was thinking about inside the mirror too but i think you need specail mirror to actually let the light shine through, if you install it without that the only light seen would be from the edges and would probobly not be noticeable. what i meant about moulding them along the curve was molding them onto the mirror so that it would be flat as possible and not stick out too much. i mean i'm not trying to install foglights there! i would go for the thinnest smallet ones i could get for a mirror install.

i actually saw an integra that had strobelights inside his mirrors, they were noticeable and pretty sick, i would like to get that done. turned on whenever he used his turn signal. when i noticed it i was like sh*t was that a camera(just ran a "yellow") but i saw it again and it was this guys mirrors.
