Got CEL. 0505 No Failure Recorded/Detected?
Got CEL. 0505 No Failure Recorded/Detected?
No Failure Recorded/Detected? what does that mean? My light came on while I was on the street today. I just changed my fuel filter yesterday and I know that my 02 sensors are shot so when I went to check it, I was sure it was just gonna say bad 02, but i geto code 05 05. Anyone know if that means I got a problem?
EDIT: I think i found the problem. My engine light only comes on when I'm blasting my stereo when my rpms are low like sitting at a light or going 30-40mph on the street. I recently played around with the gains on my amp and mad my bass a little louder so I think more current may be getting drawn in. Is it possible for an instant voltage or current drop to cause the engine light to come on WITHOUT the battery light flashing on as well?
Also, the light came on again today, 3rd time in less than 24hrs.

engine light came back tonight, again, same 05 05 code. Just to be sure nothing is going wrong, what rpm should my car be at when sitting at a light in drive. This is an automatic. My rpms are at 500-550 when sitting at a light and around 700 when in park.
i did the "counting the long pulse and short pulse" to my dad's '96 GLE last week and his max got the same code 0505.. and i thought nothing was wrong..
then after turning off the CEL, the next day, it came back on,
So i took it to Autozone since they check your CEL for free (i found out from my friend after i checked my dad's max)
and turns out he has three problems.
so take it to Autozone and have it checked for Free
