WOW!! Listen to the attitude of some of these idiots. **** Em??? WTF?? Dude I got some HIDs in my I30 an I had the same attitude until I saw what my car really look like to oncoming traffic. That's why I goin to do a retro. But I WISH I saw you comin down the road with all that glare and with that attitude, I'd personally make sure you car landed head first in a ditch.

Dude I'm speculating that you have no high beams so DO NOT flash your HIDs because you will shorten the life span of the bulb by flashin dem on an off.

I personally don't care when I get flashed, and it's only happeneda handful of times with my 7000k McCulloch Kit. I aimed them down to perfect angle..
Now people know not to cut out infront of me, and slow drivers always move out my way. I get tons of compliments by random people on the street. A lot of newer truck have glare like crazy with their stock lights and fog that bothers me but I don't cry about it. I will never go backto stock from HID's..

And about the police.. LOL what a joke the cops have too much important things to worry about like all the crime..

I dunno if it's because I'm using a 9006 bulb or what but I've never been flashed in over a year. My buddy put in an HID set with 9004 bulbs and his setup is blinding..

For those with HID's, just aim them right!
i took about an hr aiming my hid's and i never got flashed by a cop here in So. Cal and the cops here are major PIGS! Cops would be facing me and never said anything.
i pointed them low, but to the point where i can see well.

Still not surprised you get flashed though. +1
i was the one who took the pics. honestly, the exposure was barely up at all. 0"3 -0"4, F4.0, ISO 100 thats just really how the lights look, the orange corner ones are bright as hell too. the shield is a great idea, i definitly have to do that myself

so after you welded a shield onto your HID Base, did you reaim the lights higher again? or you just left them pointed toward the ground directly in front of your car? I think mine are aimed as far down as they will go at this point. I haven't been flashed since i did this, but at the same time i'm not really getting as much light on the road as i would like. retro fitting seems like a good idea, but seems pretty costly and time consuming to do it right. Also, i feel like the only one in here that doesn't have any welding equipment/experience.....

even w/o the shield, i didnt aim them down COMPLETELY, just enough so most of the light shinned on the ground, w/ the shield, i still had it aimed the same way, so most of the light was on the ground..also with the welding, i used a cold weld glue called JB Weld, which is basically a really strong, hi temp glue..but its called a cold weld because, it really hold things together, you can even use it to repair a cracked block...
