emergency help

Hey I just drove from Baton rouge to ATL...and half way there we stopped for gas...and smoke was coming from the back of my manifold. It wasn't heavy heavy smoke but it was smoke...I just got an oil change before I left...I don't know...I know my rear timing chain cover was leaking....but it never smoked before...and this morning when I looked one the ground where the car was only like a nickel to quarter size drops of oil was on the ground...which has been totally normal with the cover leaking...can someone please help...I'm in Georgia...and yeah...can I say more then I leave in Baton Rouge

I would think oil pressure sensor on the back side of the intake manifold, it is probably dripping down and hitting the exhaust piping causing it to smoke.

yea it dosent sound like anything serious...proly just some oil driping or splashing on something hot like the exhaust...probably the slobs who changed your oil got oil all over

I don't see how oil from the pressure sender leak will ever hit the exhaust... but I guess "anything" is technically possible.

Another thing is your rear valve cover gasket could be leaking - oil drips from the rear of the valve cover right onto the exhaust manifold and you get smoke like you won't believe... just ask Kevlo :chukle:

Just keep your eye on the oil level and keep it topped up.

thanks....I made it back home safely....never had alot of smoke...but I did have it and the smell whenever I stopped....thanks...I was just able to check it today so....thanks ya'll

I looked in there today and I didn't see anything. That doesn't mean a lot, but still if anyone has any other ideas to help ACEE out, I know he would appreciate it.
