Nos

I asked a local shop to get me prices on a NOS kit. First thing they asked me is if I wanted a wet or dry system. I have no idea!

Is one better or preferable to the other?

Do they make wet and dry systems for the Max?

How much did you pay for yours? (I was quoted $515/dry system)

Did you install or have someone else?

How much was install?

Please let me know.

Why didn'y you go to James (Yankee!!!) shop?

For stock internals I would go with dry, its easier too.
You have to get a general 6 Cyl. kit fuel injection.
IE I think james can get you a better price, not sure though
I wouldn insall myself doesnt look to hard.

dry application is the best way to go for your car(safest). cattman.com has a small kit for a lil more than 400, which probably means that u can get it cheaper from a local store

Do a search, but a quick answer is go DRY. NOS kit #5124 is the most popular. It runs in the $400-500 range depending on condition. It can be installed if you have some skill, but if you are asking then it is probably better left to a pro in your case. This subject has been discussed a lot. Do a search and you will have all the questions answered.

When you go with NOS do you have TO reprogram the ECU to retard the timing or can you just get the 50 shot dry system and install it as is? Meaning does anyone just install the NOS for $600.00 or is the proper way to get the gauges, and ECU which will take it over 1K? Thanks.

Dry isnt alway the best. I ran a dry kit but would have rather had a wet kit. Wet kits make more power but require more tuning. I like the dry kit b/c it was simple & easy to tune. If you plan on going over 100 shot, go wet.

The ecu doesn't have to be reprogrammed with N2O. As far as money, The total price of the install will totally depend on how much of the work you are willing to do yourself. I bought mine and installed everything (kit and gauges) so labor costs were 0. Do expect to buy extra parts and do a little engineering yourself if you do the install. There are lots of people here who have done the install, and I'm sure we're all willing to help you where we can.

You are correct, but if the guy is asking basic questions, then he will probably be overwhelmed by a wet system. He needs to stick to a dry which is simpler to install and tune.
