i have an 01 se with 90 some thousand miles and had the ses code you all speak of. took it to my local mechanic who seems trustworthy although he seems to be more of a domestic car guy. he replaced the 02 sensor and the light went off for about a week. the light comes and goes and im getting bad mileage (about 20, i used to get almost 30) i had a stalling problem last fall just before i got the 02 replaced. it fixed that problem, but the mechanic said the new code was for another 02 sensor. i've read about a million posts on here about new mafs and o2's and unhooking the maf and reprogramming the ecu, but most of them pick up after the owner had a ton of stuff replaced. im trying to avoid replacing too much. where do i start? straight to a new maf? if so, what tools are needed, and what about unhooking it and.or ecu reprogramming? or should i keep replacing 02's? basically i have seen all the suggestions, but im not sure of the order i should start with. sorry for rambling. any help is appreciated. thanks

Correct. Just tie it down somewhere in that area.

Will aftermarket headers and high flow cat create too much pressure for a stock muffler to handle?? Will back pressure be created, in which i would have to get a catback? And is there any way i can gut my stock muffler? I have 3.0 5th gen

ok I have an 01 maxima 3.0 with swirl valve. The code is p1130. I have been pulling my hair out with this thing. I think I have figured it out. fingers crossed.

I have one vacuum line that goes nowhere.

there is a part called the swirl control valve control vacuum check switch. It sits on the driver side strut tower. I think my vacuum line is supposed to go there.

If anyone has this car will you please check and tell me if this thing has a vacuum line on it. i dont know how to describe it but I will try. Its small and black. It slightly resembles a pacifire. about the same size only the nipple is a bit larger. lol.
oh yeah, a couple wires come off of it and go a couple inches to a light blue wire harness.

Anyway hope someone can help.

Thanks in advance

I meant a catback that looks stock and isnt too much louder. I want to keep my car as much of a sleeper as possible and I dont like those 4 inch tip catbacks, they sound bad.

Not to mention enhanced CVTC map and REAL advanced timing and a 13.0 FLAT AFR.

The stock catback has been proven to support up to 250fwhp.

Yeah I think catback will be one of my last mods after TS F-spec reflash, SSIM, intake (GAB), headers+Y/bpipe.

I'm also curious if there are any gains to be had in the heads... I haven't seen anybody who makes aftermarket heads, but has anybody tried a P&P job + some port matching? Heads were some of the biggest gains I could get out of my GM engines and I'm suprised to see nobody touching them in the VQ35s. Seems with the increased rev limiter from the TS reflash, some slightly more agressive cams (maybe even stock cams out of the new model Z/G35s that are rated at 306hp?) and headwork could make for a nice topend increase.

I forgot about the CVCT. If you want to supply some links about REAL advanced timing, that would be appreciated.

Is the car on and running? I have seen a car with aftermarket HID's light up purple because the battery wasn't fully charged.

It’s in the link I posted for you earlier, I’ve monitored it for myself.

Get some HR heads and some aftermarket cams, with some rev insurance and be done.

You can get a muffler shop to mandrel bend a new B-pipe and use a Walker Quiet Flow muffler. I heard them on an Impala SS and it was barely louder than stock. I don't know if there is a dual tip version though.

...Anyway, about the heads, I had them professionally ported by my machinist that has recently retired, nothing but top notch work from him. I had him clean up the intake ports and do some bowl work. The intake split is knife edged. Exhaust ports were also cleaned up and polished.

While he was in there he installed the JWT valve springs and shims.

All of the lifters/cam buckets are the correct height for a cold lash of .010-.013" with the C2 cams.

Cams themselves are 261/261 duration, and have .456"/.456" (11.5824mm) lift

I would be lookinng for ~$2000 shipped for these guys..

How do I get the maxima and the GLE logo off while keeping them in tact. Also are there holes behind the lettering or are they just gluded on? Also I was wondering the same for the Nissan logo.

In tact?

It's one word, not two. Means something entirely different when you make it two words.

You need a heat gun or hair dryer and fishing line. Heat the letters up with the heat gun, then run the fishing line as close to the trunk lid as possible, behind the adhesive on the letters. Then you will need to use a paint safe adhesive remover (3M makes a good one) to remove any adhesive that doesn't come off with the letters. Then polish and wax the area. The letters don't have holes behind them but the Nissan logo does. Unless you plan on filling the holes and repainting the area, leave the logo in place.

On my own car, I removed "Maxima" but left the "SE" there:

I have a 2002 SE with low profile tires on it that handle like crap in anything other than dry pavement. Which is ok for me, that is why I have them. But I want to purchase another set of rims so I can one set for winter and one set for the rest of the year. My problem is I dont know what rims I can put on. Can I use rims from GE's, GLE's etc. from older or newer models? I have 17x7 rims. Can someone help me?

I'm looking at converting the fogs on my 02 to HID. What size bulbs should i be looking for? H3, H3c, or D2R? I've heard all three when people have been talking about the 5.5 gen.

I went to the read hear and I couldn't find all I needed. Maybe I should get some more info and come back tomorrow. I dont want to go with a smaller or larger rims size due to the fact that it will mess with my speedometer.
