Im new on here just wondering what other OEM infiniti rims will fit on my 01 I30 without haveing to worry about rubbing or offsets

ex. I35,G35,G35Coupe,Q45

Also what lowering spring should I go with im trying to lower it 1.5' front 1' rear

My passanger side inner CV boot, isnt ripped or damaged or anything... but has a leak... a small one... everytime i look underneath , i see a drop of brown grease hanging off...

anyways...its leaking right at the edge where the boot stops and the metal rod (axle?) touches the boot. past the metal ring clamp..... im guessing the clamp isnt making a nice seal...


question is... is it possible to replace that clamp or tighten it?.... if so how?...

none of my other boots are damaged or leaking.

Hi I was wondering what do you do when the Crankshaft pulley (harmonic balancer?) bolt does not want to come out. are there any special trick or tips that make it easier. And is it Clockwise or counter? I have been hitting it with a rattle gun for the last hour and the bolt just doesnt want to let go?!

Yes you can reclamp it. Only issue is it takes a special clamp and tool to do it properly, And you have to wonder about how much grease has been lost? Should the joint be regreased? There is no way to know. The proper fix would be to replace the boot and regrease the joint or replace the complete cv axle which would be easier but may cost a bit more.

do some research... I wouldn't go any lower than progress which is 1.8 IIRC. Anything more than that and even progress you may see some bumpsteer. As for speed bumps theres a possibility

There is a dedicated wheel and tire thread in the 5th gen forum look in that there are calculators to determine the best tire for accurate spedo readings.

After doing more research i guess i dont really know what I'm talking about. I want the car to be lowered, so that handeling improves and looks. However I will be driving the car everyday so I dont want it to be to stiff of a ride. I also only want to spend a couple hundred.... The question is what should I go with?

Alot of people me included are using maxspeed springs with new struts (Tokico HPs here) Its an even drop yet a mild one so you don't have to worry about tires rubbing, scraping your bumper, etc. Improves handling dramatically also. As has already been said, H&Rs do offer a slightly smoother ride. but you compromise looks with the H&R drop. the rear "looks" like its sitting lower than the front. For some the looks are more important than handling or ride comfort. I stand behind my used maxspeed with new Tokico blues struts setup. For sure since it was only $360 for it all!

I am a little worried about my car in regards to white smoke coming out of the exhaust after the car is at normal running temps. It doesn't seem to do any when im driving its when im just at a red light/stop sign & its not a lot just a little bit floating up. Its a 2k1.

Ya if you have an offset on the rear wheels around 30-33 instead of 45 like stock you don't notice the difference so much. Just my opinion.

Anyone ever try Sylvania's silver star bulbs in their fog lights as a cheaper alternative to HIDs? The idea hit me walking through Autozone the other day, and they make the correct size bulbs, and claim to produce a brighter whiter color (~4000k). I'm not expecting a tremendous increase in brightness, but hopefully it'll come close to matching the color that the stock HID's produce. Does anyone have any input on this? Or should i just suck it up and go for the HID fogs.

The only H3s that Pep Boys had were Pilot Hyperwhites for $30. Good enough match for me, lot better than the stock bulbs.

Well, between '98 and '00 the body of the Maxima changed. So, if it's not 100% same, you might need to modify something a bit to make it fit, but you should be able to get it done. I'm pretty sure that's what he meant...
