I think yours electronically limited to 130mph. I hit 150mph in my 03 6sp once

It's actually electronically limited :O Well, looks like i have some work to do. How would one go about un-electronically limiting their max?

If you have alot of mods and wants to go faster than factory limited, you can get a standalone system.

Please make sure your excessive speeds are limited to a controlled environment (ie a track) and NOT public roads, ever.

Camshaft/crankshaft position sensor. Very common. I think they're $80 each for the part, or thereabouts. Fairly simple job, can be done yourself.

Post the P0xxx code just for us to be sure.

Thanks. Now there's two different ones. Does one go out more than the other???

The code should tell you which is faulty. IIRC it's the same replacement part, just used twice and in different locations. Might just be better to replace both at the same time.

Quick question...

I found this great how to on tinting the tail lights (without tinting the actual part that produces light) http://www.kevinfisher.net/web_serve...light-mod.html

O just have one question about it if anyone has done it. After tinting the light, do you clearcoat just the tinted part or the whole thing?

It seems like he might have only clearcoated the part he painted, but I would think it would leave an edge that you would be able to see and feel with regards to the paint coming off the edge.

Basically I was wondering if anyone had done this mod and if they had, were there, or would there be any repercussions of clearcoating the entire light instead of just the tinted area?

Doubt there'd be any issue with clearcoating the whole thing.

But also, I wouldn't worry about the 'edge' of the spray. Unless you're putting down multiple layers that add up to many mils thick, you're fine.

You have a 6 speed. You control the gears.

The advice is correct. Shift at lower RPM's and be in the highest possible gear you can be in that's appropriate for your speed.

Seems you answered your own question....

Newbie Questions...

Alright so here my really newbie questions:

I have a 2000 Max. The original owner replaced the front bumper with one from a 2002 Max. So now I have to buy 02-03 Hid headlights to replace the $h!t Chinese ones on the car.
The Question I have is; How hard is it to install the 02-03 HID headlights into a 2000. I am referring to the electrical side of this not fitment side.

Second Question; What is the most recommended cat back exhaust that will help improve MPG, but not an obnoxious drone while driving

Thanks for the info

I've been having problems with my car for a while now and I changed the fuel pump and filter, along with all my spark plugs and one ignition coil because of a missfire. Anyways, when I was changing my fuel pump I was planning on changing the strainer because it looks like this... But the new Airtek strainer I got didn't seem to fit in, because the strainer thats on there now has a longer connecting piece than the new strainers. The arrow is pointing at the plastic piece that goes from the strainer to the pump.

I think the only way to make the new strainer fit on would be if I remove the rubber ring from underneath the clip that holds everything together. Idk if this would be a bad move or not but I feel like the cause of the problem may be this nasty strainer not allowing enough fuel to get to my engine or something of the sort. So I'm looking to take care of it.

I also didn't see any strainers that were circular like the one that's on there now, they seem to only come in rectangular shapes. Although I'm sure that doesn't matter.

You can get a conversion kit which has the harnesses needed. It *might* come with instructions, I don't quite recall. But if it doesn't, the instructions are available with a quick search.

If you understand +12v circuitry and can splice/tap, it's fairly straightforward.

I don't have an answer about exhaust, I'll let someone else answer that.

But you DO have a PM in your inbox from me from a few days ago that's waiting for a response

You have to remove the entire strut assembly, compress OEM springs, disassemble the strut assembly, compress new springs, reassemble the assembly, and reinstall the strut assembly.

And when lowering it's recommended to replace all 4 struts, front strut mounts/bearings, and all 4 dustboots.

2002 GLE AC blower

Hey everyone... got a little problem I was hoping for some help with...

About a year ago my blower stopped working suddenly... about a month ago, it randomly started working again. Then a few days later started cutting in and out and now is no longer working.

I don't think it's the motor itself, bc why would it suddenly work and then not work? I don't think it's the fan control amp for the same reason.

I removed the glove box and unplugged the harness connected here: https://i.imgur.com/KxM9M.jpg

I noticed black soot on the connectors. What is this and how do I go about replacing it?

Thanks in advance for any/all suggestions.
Scott

Sounds like a sway bar end link to me.

Before you spent the time to create a video and fuss with YouTube, did you try to get under the car and feel around? Put it on ramps and have a friend/family member push down on the driver's side fender and look around. The noise should be very visible.

I'm local. Let me know if you need any work done.

One time I heard a rear wheel drive car that had broken a tooth off of the ring gear in the differential. It was kind of similiar. Jack the front wheels up and turn them by hand and see if you can hear/feel anything.

Would 02-03 Maxima light be a direct fit for a 2001 Maxima?? The wiring for the HIDs I can do myself, just need to know if its a direct swap or will modifications have to be done?

It will fit, but you will have to do some wiring. You will also need to buy headlight clips from the dealer $5-6 ea x 2 for the headlights to mount in your car.

I am selling my kit. Wiring is all done, its plug and play

He didn't ask about replacing electric with regular mounts.

That being said, that's the route I'd go, not bothering with getting electric mounts at all.
