Nissan Paint Repair
#1
Just a reminder that Nissan covers cosmetic rust under the standard 36,000 mile warranty. I would recommend that you give your car a good once over before it goes out of the warranty period. The 2000’s should pay particular attention to the trunk TSB. Even after I had it performed, enough paint had rubbed off to allow rust to begin.
Nissan paid to have my rear bumper repainted, trunk lid repaired and repainted, a paint “glob/discoloration” that was on my rear passenger door repainted, and replaced the chrome trim piece that is around the front doors due to “cosmetic rust.”
Yes I tried to get them to cover the paint chips but they wouldn’t touch the subject. However, the body shop did go over it with some touchup paint to get the bad spots.

What trunk tsb? I hate my paint. chips so easly. I even have a chip on the white painted bumper on the side of the car. How did that get there?
Anyways, besides the trunk (is that where my license plate scrapes the paint?) what is surface rust to nissan? And how long is that part of the warrenty?
