Need some ideas..

Well, tomorrow I am finally going to tear into the Maxima. I am doing plugs (bought the ngk laser platinums), plenum gasket since I am in there, oil change and would like to change the trans. fluid. The plugs, trans. fluid are original (almost 86k miles) so I figure it is time. Hopefully next week I will get to try to make that magical 13's pass..My question is this.

The drain plug on the transmission is stripped I found when I was looking at the car this afternoon. A hex key will not loosen it anymore because it looks like someone tried to change the fluid and just ended up screwing up the plug. So...any ideas as to how to get it out?

Sucks to here man...at least all your having problems with is the drain plug...I have to replace my whole transmission!!! Is there any way you could fit a vice-grip on it??? If that doesn't work you could always weld something on there that you could get a wrench or a ratchet on. Other then that I really don't know what else there is to do.

Take a dremel and attempt to grind the sides of the drain plug until straight again. You will have to enlarge to the next size up.
It will be easier to remove the pan in order to try to get the plug out.

How about some small jeweler files or a or run it thru a die. Dremel is just gonna do more damage!
