Hid Kit Install

So i just installed my hid kit yesterday and couldn't wait for it to get dark to turn them on. I turn them on and only my high beams work =( besides that the lights were the same brightness as my old bulbs which werent hid. I bought :
H4 Hi/Lo 6000K Xenon HID Conversion Kit Super White for 50.00

it came with 2 bulbs, 2 ballasts and wiring,

Can anyone help me out?

those kits are not just simple plug and play, which i am assuming is what you did. the hid bulb needs to be wired directly to the battery via a relay in order to work. there's too much voltage drop through the circuit. the high beam comes on because the conversion kits have a little halogen bulb (worthless) for the high beams, not HID, which will work when you plug and play.

google is your friend. go to an auto parts store, pick up 2 relays, and search "how to wire a relay into an HID conversion kit".

afaik the 00-01 is ground switched, so just swap the two wires into the ballast and see if that fixes it.

FYI, you don't NEED a relay kit. I installed my HID kit directly to the stock wiring with no problems. I ended up removing the HIDs because of the awful glare.

The OP needs to reverse his polarity coming out of the ballast.

and iirc, they have the red and black plugs, which go into the ballast from the bulbs, and 2 other wires...that plug into the hid harness that plugs into the car's headlight harness. those are you high beam connections.

Then that makes it a (Hi/Lo)HiD setup,....Bi-Xenon have hi-beam HiD and low-beam HiD....Just so you'll know the difference between the 2.....

thats what i meant to say. but apparently you worded it better lol.

and carrottop you would want to disconnect the other wires, and plug in the red and back connectors back into the wires from the ballast. those are ur lo beams.

THIS!

You need to switch two of the leads around on the harness that plugs into the old harness on your car. Put the ground where the low beam is and the low beam where the ground is

Not sure how much difference bulbs will make unless you are changing the temperature but cleaning the headlights will make a world of difference.

Bumping this up, had one of those eBay special HID kits laying around in the garage. Put it into the Maxima, the high beam would come on but not the Xenon. Switched the low beam and ground wires around in the harness, now the xenon's come on but not the high beams. WTF?
