Need help and have questions on how to wire up fogs on GXE

I have been reading on the forums about foglight installation on a base model GXE that does not come with fogs from the factory. I recently pulled some OEM lights at a junkyard but don't have a switch. I have been looking for the connector for fog light turn switch which I will be getting, but I can't seem to find it. Anybody have an idea where I would find the foglight connector in the dash? Colors of wires/connector? Anything helps. Thanks!

there two things you will need, first is you need the combo switch which is the headlight, that will need to be changed out with the fog light switch, they are plug and play and secondly you need a relay for the fog light, the relay is right in front of the battery which you should see. as for the harness to the fog light assembly you should have one already that going to be taped up against the frame, hidden in the bumper which you might have to take your bumper off or the splash guard that is under the bumper to access to the harness. I have seen them in GXE models in junk yard that are wired in case customer option to put factory fog lights on. Hopefully that finds your answer to your question,

Slight correction to the above - the foglamp relay is on the passenger side by the power steering oil reservoir. The cover calls it FR FOG.

Thank you for the quick response. I have figured out where the harness is in the bumper and how I need a relay and such, but I am having trouble finding the harness underneath the dash. I've pulled the dash all apart and can't find the connector anywhere. Where should I look? What color are the wires? Any pictures?

There isn't any loose connector under the dash that you need to locate and plug in. All the wires are in place waiting for you to put on a headlight switch that also has the foglight switch built into it.

I pulled out my regular headlight switch and compared it to a switch with the fog light switch in it and the fog light switch has this white connector that my non fog light switch doesn't have. Isn't that white connector for the foglight switch? Or are the foglight wires already integrated into the headlight connectors and just arent being used on non foglight vehicles?

You are going too deep into this. It is a simple process, no additional wiring needed.

Take a look at this link that has a photo of all the parts & pieces needed to add fog lights to a 2003/03 Maxima. The 2000/01 is similar.

Awesome, yeah I didn't think it should be this difficult. One more thing, I pulled the actually foglights out of a 2002-2003; will they mount/connect up right in the bumper? Thanks for your help DennisMik

You never told us what year your car is, but this last post make me think you have a 2000 or 01. I am not sure about the 5.5 fog lights being a direct fit in the 5.0, I think there are some differences..

Did you try to fit the light assembly into the bumper as well as plug the wires together?

There is no connector for the switch! The switch is a modular design and contains the switch itself...The switch/relay/foglight lamps were all part of the kit...So any light switch assy from a foglight equipped 00-03 car will do...I do have one I believe...
