Hood alignment help

Car: 2000 infiniti i30t
Replaced my hood with one from 2002 i35

The alignment seems to be off - passenger side alignment is much closer than Driver side. Pic attached.
This also results in the hood latch being off a bit and I need to force it to lock by sitting on it.
(Bonus point, if you noticed the color difference)

Did you replace the Hood Hinges?

I ask because these vehicles suffer from Hinge damage, especially when you replace a hood and/or age.

Best of luck!

No, I did not replace the hood hinges.
That will be the next step if there is no other solution.

It's called elbow grease. Body lines require it, especially if it's bee hit. Take your time and do the best you can.

Can I just slightly nudge the hood hinges to the right?

Absolutely. Start with the approach that causes the least damage (avoid bending forces until necessary) then go from there. It's common practice in body repair.

If you do a Google search, you will see that these hinges are not that good and if you do attempt at this adjustment you might need someone to help you as I don't think these hinges from factory are all that great.

Should you attempt at this, make sure you consult someone like a pro body person to see what is the proper procedure and if I am correct, you might need additional pair of hands holding the weight of the hood so, you don't destroy the factory hinges.

Best of Luck!
