Performance Muffler

Hello all, I cant find any threads older than 15 years old about this so I figured id ask here. Im installing Thomas Perdue headers pretty soon and already have an ebay catback, gutted floor cat as well. Im looking to replace the muffler on the catback I have currently. This exhaust has served me well and offers decent sound. However, its gotten raspy over the years and I am going to be doing engine maintenance, and tuning the car after some work, so I want a better sound. Basically what I want is a muffler that has a bit more flow and sounds a bit better. Also not looking to spend much. Ive been considering something like the auto zone magnaflows that they sell and putting on a nice looking exhaust tip. As always, any input is appreciated!

Magnaflow is the Muffler I would highly recommend if it's a 22" long universal but not those 14" mufflers with tips (They are Loud!)...Amazon is the source i would also recommend you ordering from if they have the chosen muffler in stock!

Don't do it. In fact, spend the money and time on figuring out how to install a second, additional factory muffler. That would make it absolutely silent. Would fit your murdered-out theme better. And not be obnoxiously loud and annoying like in the 90's when ricers were all the rage. Yeah, do that.

It's your ride if you can offset it small 14" with tips muffler with a larger resonator it might work! I was able to use a Magnaflow...6" round x 18 long, 3in/out as a resonator for my 3" Cattman Catback exhaust on my 2003 (5.5th Gen)....So I know it'll work!

I have a 3" Cattman Catback Exhaust so this Magnaflow muffler is what I'm utilizing! Magnaflow Muffler p/n: 12649 (3"in/3" out) 6" Round x 18" length! You never listed what size you're wanting to install, so what size you install will matter what p/n's you'll need!

Thanks for the referral. I sent him a DM, we'll see what happens. However, if TPJ doesn't build them anymore, looks like any 5th Gens out there are just 💩 out a luck.

I'm about to buy a pos 6th gen and swap everything over if I find a clean one for cheap. Tired of rust and no parts :/

Pretty sure the altima headers are no cats and maxima headers have cats. Altima headers are also a better fit when modified

I think you meant exhaust manifolds not headers?
