Hi I tried to do this mod, but the gutter guard is too small for the maxima grille. I have an 07' Maxima and the measurement for the gutter guard is 6" by 3'. I asked Home Depot and they said that's the only size they have? Was there any other mod that needed to be done? Or is the grill used an aftermarket? I'm trying to do this on my stock grill.

Since you own an 07, here you go:

http://www.customcargrills.com/

You can get sample packs of what styles you want and also have the mesh powder coated black etc.

Mine didn't come out as good I think.. Had some issues. The gutter guard I got for my C-Mod Grill just (barely) filled the gap on the middle top to bottom part of my grill.. you and see in my pictures I was trying to press it down and the back of the grill fiber glass scratched off the black paint.. (looks awful) but it was late at night at this point and I had been bitten my mosquito's that were the size of CATS WITH WINGS!

Here's some pics..

Sanded and then primed with self etching primer

Painted - 3 coats then clearcoated about 3 times.. the texture of the grill is now very rough to the touch feels like sand paper.. I did something wrong for sure.. it doesn't look horrible or noticeable

Mounted.. doesn't look bad in sunlight.. however it's not as shiny and smooth as others in this post. I think maybe I need more clearcoat? You can also notice the scuffed mesh from me trying to wrap the nonexistent mesh around the bottom. I'll redo the mesh again.

It looks pretty good but, you should'nt have used self-etching primer. Which is meant for metal or chrome to make the paint stick better and prevent early chipping. It should've only been primer and primer filler that should've been used. But, you can always use the link I provided on my earlier post and get some good, solid mesh that you can paint and then attach to your grille. Since you mentioned that your paint is now textured. I wouldn't suggest any more clear coat or sanding, compounding, and polishing the clear coat neither. It isn't going to help at this point, I don't think.

Thanks for the tip 6.5! I am not dissapointed with it as much now.. I saw it in the light asn it doesn't look half bad.. I just love the plastic glossy white another org member has on this thread.. I forget which one (lazy to look back) but it may be also that this is fresh paint and my car paint is possibly dull... I guess I can just keep applying wax to keep is nice and shiny.. it's smooth in some areas and rough in others.. weird how that worked out. I'll definitely take a look at your link..

I may grab another piece of gutter guard from Home depot and see if I can do this one right this time.. Plus I am thinking of moving the nismo logo as well.. too close to the middle.

Definitely getting the EZKoncepts ZK2 Bumper.. when I get some funds and my rear door fixed.. I have the ebay catback exhaust coming tomorrow. Tint and some other small mods.. I am due for some new HID's going with 6000K's and going to do switchbacks up front here.. Not sure what else to replace in the front lights to LED's. Are their LED fogs available that don't require re-wiring?
