jsmithsole - Excellent quality photos; much appreciated. The bottom half of the rear end is so vastly more stylish and appealing than any of those cars folks are saying the Maxima looks like.

Oh my goodness, please tell me those are NOT halogen projector headlamps. Please say they are HID Xenon projector headlamps.

Nooooooooooooooooo!

Pictures look great, can I sign up to drive one for a day also??

RR5 - HID headlamps are part of both the Premium and Sport packages, or can be had as a separate option for $400 MSRP on an SV which has neither Premium or Sport packages.

RR5- According to the brochure the HID headlamps are an option on the SV. You must also purchase the handsfree bluetooth to get the headlamps option. There is a #2 beside of the option box on the specifications chart which leads you to the "small print". That is where I found the info. Total MSRP of $700.

Thank you Jsmith Thank you This is the first time I am really commenting on the 7th Gen. Thanks for the great pictures. Wow... I must say Im tempted to get this Maxima but will have to wait to see the next gen Infiniti M first (most likely the all wheel drive) to come out first but Damn this Maxima looks good. It shatters standards in my opinion.

Very good pics. Looking at the lights made me think. Our 6th gens 04-06 have projector fogs. Are the fogs on the 7th gen projector?

Hate to say this but I saw a G8 on the road yesterday and it looks just as good as any Maxima.

No I did not but when you fire it up you can hear the exhaust, also the guy from Nissan told us at Stillen that sound is "piped" into the cabin to make it sound meaner, similar to what Audi does...

No the fogs are not projector and they went to regular halogen brights as well...seems like a step backwards. Maybe they had to trade those in for LED tails...

WOW! I saw a G-ate on Sunday it looks like a last gen Altima to me from the side profile. Not much sophistication to it.

To me, the G8 screams '80s Detroit pony car.' Some will really like this look. It is OK, but does little for me. I am more impressed by the G8's power, handling and brakes than by the looks. Of course the austere inside pales when compared with the options, goodies and sophistication of the '09 Maxima. Sadly, and perhaps unfairly, the overall poor reliability of Pontiacs will cause the resale/tradein value of this possibly reliable (new; nobody knows) car to be very weak.

Ok Ok, I work so hard to get all of you to HATE the G8 so I'll just stick with my first thought. The G8 is a piece of ****.

Well now that the 7th gen is here we can step back and appreciate our 6th gens just a little.

I love the pictures you took with your 09 Maxima's, got everyone jealous in this forum especially me. Since the 09 Maxima's came out, will the invoice price of 08 Maxima's drop or the MSRP? Just wondering.

kevin319 - No, the arrival of the '09s will not change the invoice price or the MSRP of the '08 Maximas left on the lot. What the '09s WILL do is 'encourage' dealers to use more creative means of clearing the '08s. They are typically more willing to sell leftovers at invoice, or even slightly below invoice, as the 'holdover' goodie from Nissan means they still make a profit selling slightly below invoice. Another possibility is Nissan throwing a little rebate on the '08s to assist them off the lots.

In other words, the invoice and MSRP on the '08 won't change, but the deals should be very good.

Thanks for the info lightonthehill. If an 08 Maxima's can drop down to 25k fully loaded, I will probably get that rather then the 09 Maxima's with the budget I have.

kevin - There should come a time within the next month or two when the dealers decide they need to clear the last '08 Maximas off the lot. At that time, you should be able to wrangle a fairly loaded '08 for not far from $25K. Of course you may be limited in color and exact options, but the deal should be very good. You are most wise to try to stay within a budget.

Yeah I'm trying to stay under $30k including taxs, fees, anything else the dealer is going to charge me. If I'm willing to spend a bit over $30k, I might as well get a Lexus IS 250/350... been itching to get one since my dad bought that Lexus IS F. He wouldn't let me drive it With $20-30k, definitely the Maxima in that price range. Unless I decided to save money with $10-$20k, I'll probably end up buying a Scion tC. ( saves gas and good performance )
