Just saw this add on MSN, it may be limited to the Northeast but I'm not really sure. I'm sure there is some kind of catch but it seems to be a great deal $24k for SV w/sport package. Check it out this offer ends Wed. 7/8.

I went back in and they wanted $3k down, I refused...I told them that I wanted to pay only tax, license etc but nothing towards the car meaning no down payment, they refused...I walked away again.

The next day they called me and said ok, ok no money down your payment will be $550 I said hell no!!...I want to be at $300 per month, thy put me on hold and said $350, I still refused they said ok $310 I thought about it and went back to them again, mind you I live in NJ (15 mins away which equals 30 minutes on the lincoln tunnel traffic and already almost $30 in Ezpass money gone to waste and gas...I told them this is the last time I am going there to negociate.

They were honest with the last offer so I took the Dark Slate Tech Package 09 Maxima

If you guys know how to haggle then fight the price, I did all I could as I knew what my credit score was when I went to the dealer it was 740 and they were offering me a bad deal the first time around, guys / girls know your credit score before haggling with a dealer as at first they will tell u everything is cool, but when u go to the finance mgr he will check your score and I knew what mines was and I had the haggling power.

I just added 20' chrome rims I will post the picture soon on that thread

Damn DJ Willie. You should have holla'd at me papa. I know the manager over there and he told me if I recommended someone he would have hooked us both up. The manager Richie used to work in the post office a long time ago. It's cool though. Put up pics of the rims soon kid. I want to put some 20's on mine too. I don't want to do 22's.

My clunker was a 1999 Lincoln Town Car Touring Edition. 150,000 miles. Needed new front suspension, door hinges, general refreshing. Hidden rust under plastic half-panels on doors. KBB's about $4K. Never seen over $3300 on ebay.
Obama just made it easy to trade. Otherwise I'd never gotten over $3k on ebay or $1000 on trade.

MSRP change?

When I bought my new Maxima last month, the dealer had 2 identical cars (except for the color), but they were priced $800 apart. The salesman claimed that the older 2009 Maximas had a lower price. I went with the less expensive one, and sure enough the sticker price of $31,990 is $870 less than what Edmunds shows for a base SV model. Does this make sense? What would have changed in the middle of the year for Nissan to justify raising the price?

I just got mine on Tuesday of last week in Atlanta, GA. Navy blue SV Prem with Tech, spoiler, mats, splashguards, MSRP 39600. Leased for 485 month for 39 months, 15k a year with only first payment down. They also threw in 2 years free oil changes and tire rotations. I just found this forum, love it so far, scared to read other lease deals now... if I find some a lot cheaper, I'll be mad! lol...

Why do people lease? Doesn't it end up being expensive? The car will end up with light scratches from people parked next to you or stone or bugs on the freeway. And leases almost look like what someone who is buying is paying. I think leasing is a waste of money. For after 2 or 3 years, you are out of 12000 or 18000 or even more, but no car to show for. You have to take it back and might end up paying extra for going above mileage or minor damages. So, might be ending with 20k out of pocket with nothing to show as a car, but pics as you drive away from the dealership after lease is up.

You have some valid points Petit, but leasing saves me money... prevents my nasty habit of wanting to trade cars every year and taking massive hits on depreciation for doing so... I'm usually sensible about most things in life but with cars I am like a 5 year old at Toys R Us that wants everything he sees.

Right, I am in that boat and now thinking of leasing as opposed to buying. I have had 3 cars in 6 years. I am lucky enough to be on the positive side of my loans when I traded, but why not save the money and lease and move onto something new without the hassle. Leasing vs. buying is more a preference and isn't for everyone. For Johnny off the street who never wants to get rid of his car, buy away, for others who like the latest fad or like change, leasing is a good option.

Just got mine!

I just got a premium with tech package and a spoiler. I paid $35,500 out the door (including tax, title, and DOC fee) including the $1750 rebate from Nissan. I had to use an outside lender, but it was worth it. The dealer offered $150 under invoice after about 1.5 weeks of dealing. Lots of fun but I am very happy with the final outcome.

Just got mine

I just picked up a SV with Sports. but i leased it. You should buy cars if you plan to keep them for a long time (5-8 years) or you are buying a very expensive car because they cost a lot to lease, and when you sell a expensive car it keeps its value so you don't lose a lot. I like to have a new toy every few years. It depends on you but that is my opinion.

Some of the deals i have read here made me a lil upset but I bought my car a few days after it came out so there were no deals when I got mine. What I don't understand is why are any of you buying this car and not getting the extended warranty. I am certain most of you who did not get the extended warranty will regret that. The car is like a damn computer and will be expensive to get repaired out of warranty. The tranny for the 09 maxima alone will run you 6k because they are not allowing rebuilt ones to be put in the car.

I lease for many of the aforementioned reasons. But the biggest reason is that my company gives me a monthly car allowance. Beats having a company car (Chevy, Ford or whatever), because I get to choose whatever car I want. If the monthly payment is more than my allowance, I just make up the difference.

Bad Math?

Let me see, 38,400 minus 1,700, minus 1,000 equals 35,700. So what is the difference here?? Why does my math different than yours?

Is that an OTD price? What dealer did you buy from. I'm in the Philadelphia region and I'm picking one up later this month.

I just picked mine up this morning in Fort Worth, TX. I got the Prem/Tech with tint and floor mats for $35600 out the door (including TTL) and $1750 Nissan rebate. The car was financed at 5.9% for 72 months and has a payment of $548 a month. Hopefully that was a good deal. It seemed to be from all the numbers that I could find.

I would like to get 2010 Maxima Premium+Tech to replace my fifth gen maxima. I've decided to lease this time, and I was wondering how much do you guys think the monthly payments will be? Are the 2010s available yet? I was hoping to get around 450 to 500 a month. I was first going get a 2009 but I dont want to deal with some of the problems that comes with the 2009

It has been said here by many people; leasing is your preference.

As far as payment is concerned, please be patient enough to go through the whole thread and read what people who are leasing are paying. You will learn a lot. Then armed with your credit score, go to the dealership and negotiate. But mind you, you are going for a 2010, so, maybe no incentives or discounts will be available.

Try shopping and coming with questions, instead of asking upfront without any research.

Goodluck in your search.

Read the fine print. That is usually after rebate and sometimes your trade. My dealer was advertising the same thing but it was after the cash for clunkers thing.

I agree, lots of the ads out there now sneak in the cash for clunkers deal to get to such a low price. If you don't have a clunker you are outta luck.
