I'm in the process of car shopping and came across a slight dilemma. I live in Southeastern Pennsylvania and Nissan is only offering a $750 cash back incentive. In Pittsburgh, which is on the other side of the state and 4-5 hours away, they are offering a $1750 cash back incentive. Is the drive really worth it? ........

So far, the best quote that I've received is for a 09 w/prem tech and rear spoiler was $35,000 pre tax tag and title. I've come nowhere near the deals listed in this thread.

I want to be among you fellow Maxima owners as I am a proud 4th and 5.5 generation owner now. Please comment as I am trying to pick one up within two weeks.

I wonder why only $750 where you are at. The $1750 is a Nissan nationwide rebate. Also I would find out the invoice and if you can get below it without the rebate and then tack it on then I think you got a good deal. Just my 2 cents.

No such thing as Nationwide rebates. They are localized by region. For example, go to their website and input a zip code for a Northeastern city and the rebate will change. In Ohio, that is considered MidWest, therefore the rebates are different.

I paid invoice on my SV w/Sport pkg which was 33 and change, sticker was $36,230. Less the 1750 rebate. The extra $1000 above the $750 is if you are currently driving a GM or some other make vehicles I believe, and may be regional. I am in NY if that matters.

The $1000 dollar incentive for GM is a separate issue.

When you click on Nissan's offers, they are regionalized. So a person in the Southeast region may see that Nissan is offering $1750 cash back. However, if a person lives in the Northeast region, they will see $750 cash back.

I stumbled upon this by reading previous posts in this thread that some reported getting $750 on their rebate and others reported $1750. So I entered a different zip code (used Atlanta since many seem to get good deals down there) and I was amazed to see they received the bigger discount. So I did more research and discovered the closest region that offered the $1750 was Pittsburgh.

I received vpp pricing from my Bank (USAA) that gave me $1,250 off invoice. Nissan added in $1,250 so I picked up my SV for $2,500 below invoice. I had around $800 in dealer fees and other BS but got out the door for $29,759. To get this deal I had to drive out of state to TN so that price does not include tax, title & license...

I just love my black/tan 09 Max!

Looking to buy a new Maxima

Hello - I am looking to replace my 1998 Maxima with a 2009 or 2010 Maxima and came here for some advice.

First, should I hold out for the 2010? Pros: better selection, and a few extra goodies with the package I'm looking for (SV + premium) such as the 2 gig music box, front sun screen, etc and only a small higher invoice. Cons: I assume 2009s will be more aggressively priced, and the extra goodies wouldn't be worth that much extra (although I'm really interested to see what "Ocean Gray" looks like.

Next, I'm in the metro DC area. As far as I can tell the only discounts available to me are choice of $750 back or 2.9% APR financing (60 months). What do people think would be a good price for a 2009SV+Premium Pkg in the area?

I started looking about 1 month ago, and then left for vacation. I had two offers for about $33,750 from local dealers, which seemed good given the Edmunds TMV data I saw.

Many thanks!

This is my first post and also my first Nissan! Love it so far! I got mine at Chris Meyers Automall in Daphne, AL. MSRP $32,032 (before taxes + fees), $29,000 out the door using my USAA discount. I wanted to wait for the 2010's, but didn't want to risk losing the buyer for my old car (2007 VW Passat.)

I was at my local dealer yesterday just looking at color options (the lease on my '07 isn't up until Jan '10). I mentioned that the 2010's were rolling this week which the salesman didn't know. He then mentioned that Nissan was currently offering to pick up your last three payments on current deal. I said "'let's talk". I am looking at a '09SL premium tech in silver, dark slate, or precision grey fully loaded. Sticker is 39 plus change. Edmunds listed invoice as 35 plus. Waiting to hear what he offers.

While waiting from a response from the local dealer, I went on line through my insurance company, USAA, who have a no haggle buying program. For the car I am looking at which has a sticker of $39,900, I got a guaranteed price of $34,500 or $850 under invoice. Seems like a sweet deal to me. Thoughts?

I finally pulled the trigger on my 09 Max. Black/caffe latte interior, prem, tech packages, Nissan chrome wheels for $37,000 OTD, $34,500 before sales tax, title, and fees.

Drove about 300 miles to pick the exact one up that I wanted, plus more incentives on the other side of Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh) than my side (Philadelphia).

I've had the car one day and received more compliments than I've ever had for a vehicle. It actually gets embarassing sometimes as I'm not one that likes a lot of attention, but this car commands it!!!

wala, I would definitely go for that price. I got the same exact model, color, and options for $29,000 out the door. That was with USAA pricing + a little haggling.

One warning - they'll likely add back the rebate to the Internet price...there's generally more added back to that than just TTT.

My wife will be picking one up on Monday. It's a lease so I've had to calculate the discounts from what a full priced car would have cost. Our car is the manager's vehicle, which can sometimes raise an eyebrow, but he's an older guy with a long-standing highly rated dealership that has taken the time and trouble to add 3M paint chip protection on the mirrors, lights, bumper and hood, and tint to the vehicle to keep it looking good. It looks spotless and has 4500 km on it.

So we like the deal and I make the numbers out to be:

MSRP: $43850 Canadian
Cash discount: $5200
Estimate of 3M and tint: $1000
Nissan Canadian Gas card promotion (2500L, 20cents off per litre): $500
4 free oil/lubes: $160

Savings of $6800, over $7500 with taxes.

Question

I am looking at getting a '09 Maxima 3.5 S with just the Floor mats and Splash guards. What kind of price should I shoot for?

I think the sticker price is just over 30k.

I am hoping some of you can help me know just how far I can lower that.

Thanks,

Just picked up my Maxima a few days ago. 2010 SV Premium + Tech w/ splash guards and floor mats. Put 3500 down and the lease payments (39 months) came to $460. Total financed $38374. I thought I got a pretty good deal, worked them down from $525.

I just love this car! My last car was a 1997 Mitsubishi Mirage. I've was driving it with no air condition (in Las Vegas!) for about 3 years.

People use to tell me that I never liked to leave the house. Now I look for any excuse to drive my Maxima!

Went to my dealer on Friday armed with a no haggle price from USAA of just under $35k ($1200 under invoice) for a fully loaded Premium plus Tech '10. (sticker was $39,600). Now this price was only available through a dealer other than mine. So I kept that under my hat for the initial negotiation. I asked them for the best deal they could give me, keeping in mind that my credit rating is well over 800, and that I have bought or leased eight Nissans from this dealer (between the missus and myself) over the past twenty years. They came back with an offer of 37,800, and lease payments of $539 with no out of pocket! I then said, may I show you something and proceeded to pull out the USAA offer. They were flabbergasted! After some "sales speak" they asked what it would take to keep my business. I told them to meet it or get it close. They couldn't so I walked. I'll be calling the other dealer.

I am really surprised they let you walk with credentials like that! My dealer was really super laid back, but I worked them a lot anyway. I brought a friend of mine who use to be in the car sales business, and the dealer knew this.

When they first came back with $525, I said "Your charging me sticker?!" and they brought it down to $480. Then I said "Ok I'll go to lunch and think about it".

I went to another Nissan dealer and offered them $460. But then I released I was bidding on an 09. I said they better get down to $420 for me to take an 09 over a '10. They said "Well you better just go for that '10 then", so I walked out of there, they were pissed.

I returned to the first dealer at the end of the day. They had only sold 3 cars that day. I told them "The other dealer would do $460, but I didn't want it because it already had 200 miles on it and it was dirty". I didn't mention that it was on 09. They did the deal right then and there.

I also wanted to add that my total financed price was after all dealer and doc fees, and it included the spoiler.

I've checked out 3 dealers in the NY/CT area for a 2010 Premium plus tech package. The MSRP is $39,330 (has everything except the spoiler) and the invoice is $35,782. All 3 dealers are driving a hard bargain for the 2010's but are more willing to negotiate on the 2009's. I can get the 2010 for just at or several hundred over invoice. The Northeast regional deal that Nissan USA is offering thru 9/30/09 is $500 cash.

The price you will pay is directly related to the region you live in.

Hey Guys,

I have a quick question. I was actually looking at a 2010 Max fully loaded Premium tech package SV with spoiler. The guys over at Nissan want $409 a month for 42 months. Is this a good price? I was also concerned about the warranty. It comes with a 3 year/36k, but @ 42 months that would put me over it. I explained this to the dealer and he said that Nissan tries to entice you out of your lease before it ends so it wouldn't be a big issue. I don't wanna leave this to chance so I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this. Thanks in advance guys!

For $409 a month, what are you having to put down or trade? If nothing, that is a steal! For the exact same vehicle with a sign and drive in Massachusetts, the dealer wanted $539. I walked away!

Have you managed to work out a deal yet? I'm hoping to pick something up this coming weekend. I've got a no haggle price of $35,149 from USAA for a 2010 Maxima SV Sport + Tech. I'll be leasing also. I don't have your 800+ credit score but mine is definitely not bad by any stretch.

No deal arranged yet. The other dealer had no vehicles on the lot (hmmm?). I'm not in a rush as I still have three months remaining on my "07 lease. If I can get a deal in the $450/mo range with nothing down for a loaded '10 I'll take it. Also, if your credit rating is in the 750+ range, you'll get the lowest interest rate available.

Well, we paid just over $31k a month ago for that car in the Midwest, but there was a $1500 rebate included...
