Well, I traded a Titan I've had for 1.5 years so there was neg equity (which is normal for me...it's a sickness). Basically I got a $35,020 MSRP for $38,500 and 1.90 for 72 which when you take in to account I had $9800 neg equity in the truck, it was a sweetheart deal. We started out at the same price but @ 7.69% for the rate.

Yeah, I've got that sickness too ... I can be in love with a car, and then poof! trade it in. I'm hoping the Maxima works without a hitch until I pay it off ... at that point, I'd be OK with putting some money into repairs. Until then ... no dice!

So far, I miss the SYNC system a little bit, as well as the seats and overall quietness of my Lincoln. I'm slowly getting used to the Bose stereo and a little more road noise.

Just curious: Why'd you get rid of your Titan?

Hey John, Congrats on your new Maxima! I test drove the Lincoln MKS once when it first came out. One of the things I really liked was an exterior color which was kind of cream, not white, and very gorgeous. They had an extra charge for that color.

So you started having lots of problems with the Lincoln within the first year? I hear Ford quality is improving everyday

I loved my Titan but...

You tend to lumber around in something that large vs. zip around. It had great space, a great ride (for a truck) and good power. Honestly, I was looking to trade to a 370z when the wife dropped the "I want a kid" comment. In reality, the Titan could've been kept without a problem but it was nearing the end of it's warranty (not really a concern, but it makes me feel better to use it as an excuse) and it was going to need tires pretty soon. I have been a big fan of the Maxima for years and the re-design really looks sharp so I went for it. A couple other things that factored in were, I dropped my payment $80 a month and it's not a circus act to get the car in the garage which is a pet peeve of mine. If you have a garage, use it to store the cars (but that's irrevlevant).

Yeah, the list started on Day 1, and never had everything crossed off. The brakes were the [no pun intended] breaking point for me. They constantly made noise and felt like they were slipping, and I couldn't put up with that. The list is as follows:

Brakes
Sunroof noises
Headliner falling down on passenger side
Rear door locks not unlocking properly (fixed)
Shifter didn't work in manual mode properly (fixed, but scratched chrome)

The stereo in that car was fantastic, and didn't upset my tinnitus. I am still tuning the Maxima's stereo to try to correct that - so far my ears don't like it.

Gadgetech: I know what you mean - although that truck has a little get-up-and-go - I drove one in 2005, and thought it was pretty good, although a serious gas hog. The Maxima is almost as fast as my 04 Mustang GT Convertible, so it's taking me some time to get used to driving it, haha.

So far I'm getting quoted

2010 Frost/ Charcoal interior SV
Premium
Tech
Spoiler
Mats
splash guard

MSRP 39700
32,900 including 720 destination charge

Currently I have do have VPP program which gives 4.3% off invoice. On top of that there's the 1250 rebate. And the dealer was even willing to go lower after that.

So far best was 32,900 which includes destination.

Gonna see if I can do better.

Watch out for the interest - I took 0%, but that negated something like $1,750 in rebates. Still saved a boatload of dough on interest though

nah its going to be a cash deal. They will always come up with an excuse saying if you go with 0% you don't get the 1250 cash back etc.

Yeah, with some rebates, it's either you get the rebate, or the special financing. It's ok by me though - 0% is saving me a bunch of dough!

That is a great deal!! 32,900!!!????

Hey everyone, first time poster!

Just got our Maxima on Tuesday, we love it!

We got to use the VPP discount as well but we paid a bit more. We paid 33,569 for a SV. The MSRP was the 39700 so it had everything like the one above.

The roof is AWESOME!!!

We leased ours and got a .00105 money factor which is INCREDIBLE! Were supposed to have gotten 500 for using the lease but I guess they said you could not. Oh well...

We are very happy with the deal and the dealer, Chico Nissan in California was ABSOLUTELY awesome!

Well, hope to see you guys around...

Steve

I got a call from a dealer last Fri when I was still shopping around. They said Nissan allowed them to use the 1K Toyota rebate for any car just for the weekend. Not sure if that was just a hook but I didn't go with them...they were gauging me up front and got a new SV Sunday for thousands less.

Thumbs down 2010 Maxima

I was offered 219/month for 39 months, 12k miles/year, Brand new Maxima S, with mats and splash with 1889, OUT OF POCKET, by automall 46 in Totowa, NJ, couldnt get it though because I couldn't sell my car and have the up front $$$$ in time, also, many dealers didn't want to match it, they said that those were most likely, "Altima numbers" or they were too low.

Def a lease, if he financed and pays 309 a month then that would be like a 7yr term for an SV-Tech which is about 35-36k sticker.

That's a sweet deal. I got my basic SV, silver with charcoal, floor mats, splash guard and spoiler for 31K. I would definitely have paid 2K more for that package! I was a bit of rush to make a purchase before the 0% expired last month...then today, I found out they extended it for April!!

I just got it tinted today for $165.

SV sport/monitor msrp 36980 paid 30200. thats 18.35% off MRSP

I'll be upset when I see any one doing siginifinantly better than that off any model.
I was offered 28900 on the phone but found it too hard to beleive probably a lot of fees and extras aded at signing.

My dealershiop had no suprises $0 added thankfullly.

The dealer I got it from had to DX with another dealer. I tried to buy an identical one from another dealer and they wouldn't go below invoice price which was $35K plus. They also wouldn't DX with the dealer I bought from because they thought I was going to buy from them.

I got my 2010 Maxima SV w/ Premium, Tech & Spoiler (also splash guards and trunk mat) for $34,300. I leased it so my payments with $0 down is $434/mo for 39 months.

They also paid off the remaining $1123 that I owed in payments on my Honda Accord lease. (4pmts at $280/mo)

I gave them a check for the 1st month plus NY DMV fees and I drove away! Can't be happier... Also I dont have VPP or anything, just some hard bargaining with the dealer. (well I think I got a good price anyways)

If it is $434 including tax, then I think you did awesome. How does the Maxima compare to your Accord in driving dynamics, handling, etc.?

I'm new here and am considering a Max but already got a quote on a lease just so I can figure things out on my end lol. Sport w/ tech 360/mo only dmv/title/whatever upfront. Sound ok? At the dealer I was quoted ~420/mo for the same car.
Sorry no actual price!

Yes $434 includes the wonderful state of NY's 8.625% tax (all having to be paid up front, and not in each payment so I had to capitalize the tax and add interest charges to it)

The Maxima blows the doors off my Accord. I loved my Accord too, but just taking on ramps the Maxima is much more planted to the road. The handling is great! Quick highway maneuvers are effortless! Much much quicker too (guess that's the 50 extra horsies and torque)

What's the "whatever" part? Taxes? I would say that 360/mo would be good for the car with nothing down (other than 1st mo and DMV)
FYI - The dealer was showing me Nissan's residuals and the sport models residual values were lower than the premium so that may be why you were quoted $420. Read a couple posts up I posted my deal.... I bought at Habberstad Nissan in Huntington.
Call them up and ask for Chris A, tell him Julian who just bought the Ocean Gray Maxima told you to see him for a quote.

No, taxes are in the monthly payments. Total out of pocket is about ~1200. Yea, the premium costs a little more. Too bad you can't get some of the premium features in the sport, or vise versa!
