Seriously. The only option I left off was navigation, and that was just because they only had the one car in the color I wanted. They even filled tires with nitrogen, but I'm not convinced that it really makes any practical difference.

2002 Maxima SE UNMOLESTED

Bought it for $6900 with 81k on the clock. So far as far as maintenance, I've had to do, brakes, need to do struts, and put a catback on because the old muffler was falling apart.

Ok I'm new to the forum but I plan on getting my max this holiday weekend. We are looking at a 2009 CPO max. The dealer is asking 28,979 but I plan on offering them 24k cash OTD. Do you think this is a reasonable offer? Let me know I'm not planning to spend over 25 but some of the deals you guys are getting are tempting. Oh and it an sv sport/ tech package with around 14k miles on it!

Also here my other situation since I refinanced my house to free up money to pay for the car ( I don't think I'm big time for paying cash) the funds won't actually transfer until tues. I told the lady I would come in today to look at the car...if I like it, which I'm sure I will, I was just going to give the lady 1000 to put the car on pending sale. Is this a good approach or should I just wait until I have the Funds on tues?

i got an '09 w/ 30,000 miles on it for about $22,000

in great condition, was offlease

its the base model w/ whatever came standard.

feels like a pretty good deal when i looked around and saw that having navigation & paddle shifters added another 6 grand. just didn't care about the options i guess.

edit: oh and i extended the bumper to bumper for 4 more years on it as well, which was part of the price.

Ok guys so i need some advice...I have been striking out at dealers left and right and Im not sure whats a good deal anymore. I was at a dealership in which they had a 2009 Certified max with the premium package. The car was absolutely beautiful...tinted windows, dual roof, spoiler all the bells and 17000 miles . So I asked the guy what his best offer would be and he told me 28200, which was 700 off the listing... I was hesistant, I told him I would take it at that price otd cause I was going to pay 26 of it in cash. He refused so I walked out...then I spoke to another dealer who said he could get me in a 2010 sv with the monitor package, spoiler, sun roof, mats, and all that for 31,188.88 OTD...Which is the better deal?? I torn cause tho I think the 09 is worth that price, I feel like they should present a better deal especially considering Im paying upfront, but ultimately I guess they make less money this way anyways... then on the other hand the 10 has no miles on it but less options. I'm new to the max forum, but I love the car and I am kinda stuck on it, but I dont know what the best deal is... should I just wait it out till the price on the 10s drop when they are trying to free up room for the 11s?

So being that the car is for my girl she telling me she doesnt want to finance anything so I guess we are gonna get an 09 sv with 21k miles on it. Only problem is it has the amber screen, which I absolutely hate! But I can afford to cash it out and has some money to put rims and all that on it! I guess if it truely gets annoying I can prolly just swap it out for a touch screen navi, right? is that a possiblity?

NOoooooooo, do it once, do it right, you acnnot swap out for touch screen nav, thw parts would cost upwards of 7k. Just buy one that has it alreadt trust me, you will save yourself alot of trouble.

Believe me bro Im salty to but much like Lebron I gotta make the best decision and right now spending more than 31k doesnt make sense. Plus its the wifes car so ultimately its her decision... I dont want to do it and Im still gonna think about it but if I can get this for 23500 i gotta do it. I need to put money away for somethings and ultimately I gotta make the smart decision, not just the impulse one. Please continue to talk me out of it tho!

I understand what you mean, you could still get the monitor package for an extra 700 bucks on top of the msrp if nav is too expensive though.

yea i know but my girl is tryin to put a cap on what we spend, and since I definately want a max I will take this one over taking nothing. Its still very nice its a certified preowned super black sport pack with 20k miles on it. So since I can pay for it straight up, it makes sense for us. We just bought a house and have a few other things planned. So at least I get my max and some money to hook it up!

Yea I'm tryin to be, it's just such a hard decision cuz I can get a new one for like 70 bucks a month which makes it super tough. I would end up with a loan for like 5000 bucks so it makes it so appealing considering it has that monitor pack and no miles...but then again If I can get the other one for 25 otd I can cop some rims and put some money away...man I feel like our household is on some lebron ish, since we've gone back and fourth so much!

That's a tough choice. If it were me I would opt for the new one. Either way you'll be in good shape money/equity wise. Just my 2 cents.

After the first dealer attempted to sell me a damaged car i went on a hunt for a unrepaired new 2010.
i found a buddy who worked at a near by dealer and he gave me his demo that had 5 k miles on it.
so i got a 2010 premium tech in white with nav with every option but the trunk storage for 33,135 before tax and dmv. The sticker was 39,970. I think this was a good deal.i also got the 0% for 60 months.

I hope it was.The first dealer"somerset nissan" in somerville nj attempted to screw me.They located me a car after i left a deposit and I just so happen to find out during the transport the driver rear ended somebody in a toll booth.then the dealer called and said my car isnt ready and to come next week for delivery.Since i knew the deal and took pics and the vin# for evidence they tried to deny it and also said they did not need to disclose the damge. so i didnt take the car.

Great catch, glad you got away from it even though I have a feeling they'll push the car on another customer.

I can provide the vin# if anyone wants so it can spread around and maybe we can prevent somebody from getting beat and or if someone did buy it they can follow up on it?
I still need to get my $500 deposit back somehow on my CC as they hung up on me since i didnt want the car and went elsewhere for the car.I have a short temper so if I went there I would just get my self into trouble. Can I just call my CC and tell them to stop payment or dispute it?

Yes, go ahead and post the VIN number for said damaged vehicle.

I don't know about your CC company but with mine, they allow me to dispute a charge if I find that the service/product is not as advertised. The CC company then will handle the dispute with the other party. I have a feeling if you dispute the deposit fee by explaining them the situation they should stand by you.

Hope this helps!

I just got a lease for a winter frost w/black leather 2010 maxima sv premium, sticker was probrably same as yours at $39,960, every option but the trunk sub floor organizer with first aid kit from what i've seen. The lease is ZERO down, no money out of pocket at all and $430 month including tax. 12,000 miles yr. There was some incentives so i jumped on it. My credit is in the 7's... This was out in CT but i have to pay NY taxes which bites!

So here a lil update wit my situation for those that have been throwin advice. We drove up to the cleveland area to see the 09 which was a huge dissappointment. Car had tons of scratches on it the interior looked like poop and he wanted 28k out the door. I was like this ish is in terrible condition wit now monitor and you want 28k. I and dipped. So we decided we were gonna go new, went to a local dealer. They had an 2010 sport/ monitor pack which was the demo car for the manager and they were gonna give me for 34 out the door. I was tempted but then he also said I could get a 2010 with monitor pack and spoiler for 31,158.00 OTD, but no sport pack. Is the sport pack that big of a difference? I love the wheels, but I plan on getting real rims anyway so what do you guys think? Oh and as a last resort I could get an 09 premium pack with every feature offered that year, with a spoiler and tints for 30 otd with 17000 miles? SO....

What the sport has that the SV deosnt is, paddle shifters, power tilt/telescoping steering column, memory seat system, and of course that sport suspension, so if you can do withput that then it's good. Can you give me your zipcode bc I can find a real good deal for you right now and then send you the pricing report and the price is guaranteed by any dealer that is on the certification list.

Sgirgiss your the man fam, I appreciate it... I looked on overstock which is how I found that crimson black joint. I loved it...I just need the price to be a Lil lower and I woulda snatched it... I just gotta get over this whole thing it just separating from that 25k check makes it so hard so I end up talking myself out of it we were at the dealership for like 3 hours and almost signed but I was like man I just grab a cheaper car and pocket the rest, but I know I wouldn't b happy with that either.

$25K is a lot of money to part ways with. Although you seem to have your mind made up on spending it on a new car don't rush it. Be patient, keep looking. You'll find the right car soon enough. Good luck.

hey guys,
Im new to the site and found some great threads. This is my first nissan and im sold on the brand. I got my maxima for 30,500 otd including all dealer fee's. They Listed it as an S but i looked in the glove compartment and to my surprise i found some goodies. The dealership obviously didnt look in the glovebox because they would have saw that it was an SV and got more money out of me. The previous owner built the car and it literally has every option aside from dual sunroof, and paddle shifters. So basically its fully loaded with the heated stearing wheel and heat package, tech package, sport package...blah blah blah. Im really excited with everything and oh yeah, its an 09 and only has 15,000 miles on it...Looking forward to posting more and adding mods to the car

I bought my 2010 Maxima SV (Navy/Cafe Latte) with the cold weather package back in early April 2010 for 28,800 with 1.9% APR. Sticker was $34,500. Had to haggle for a few hours and got the dealer to throw in some extra goodies (free state inspections for life, discounted 7 year extended warranty, etc.)

Overall I think I walked out the door with a pretty good deal!
