Well, previously having a modded LS2 GTO the Maxima's umph just isn't quite "sports car" to me. Definitely a nice daily, though!

I picked it up during the last day of a large volume dealers' calendar year. I had no intentions of purchasing a car, as I wasn't in the market, but figured I'd see what kind of deal I could work... and the rest is history!

I agree, after coming from a BMW 530i the handling, especially over rough pavement, just isn't what I would expect from a true four door sports car. But with that said, I think this car for the price does very well. It is actually a little heavier them my 530i, it was an '03. And because it was a stick with the sports suspension it was hard to beat in the handling department. BUT, it was down on power even though it felt like it had more torque (it didn't). I don't know if it was the difference between the manual and the CVT or if I just haven't had the opportunity to jump on the Maxima yet. I can tell you that at speed, this car can quickly get from 50-80 mph with ease and even from 70-90 mph with ease. I really don't go any faster than that since I live in a highly populated urban city and even though speeds are obviously only on freeways But again, for the price, I am NOT complaining one bit. My cars MSRP was $39,800 and I got it out the door for $31,800.

Hey guys, I'm back. Sold the 05 E55 AMG (lived in Canada and am now in California) and am looking for a new ride. I previously owned a 01 Max and loved it.

Found the Nissan dealer here in Stockton offering the following:

2012 SV Sport with Tech/Rear Camera/iPod
***Lifetime warranty on Powertrain (it's via a third party company - owner of the dealership is including this with all new vehicles)

$40300 inc tax and title

Now I haven't committed to anything because I know I will haggle to get it lower.. what do you think is reasonable?

Dealerships around me in NJ offer the lifetime warranty as well. Their stipulation is EVERY service listed in the manual must be performed at the dealer within a certain mileage/timeframe or they will void it.
Do yourself a favor and use overstock.com to get your car price. Don't bother haggling with the dealer. Especially one that tells you 40k

anyone in the MD/PA/VA/WV/DC area go to Fitzgerald Nissan for your max's, they're prices on them are cheaper than 99% of truecar.com prices i checked this myself, according to true car usually at or just above invoice is a good deal yet Fitzgerald Nissan sells theirs for THOUSANDS under invoice, this is where i got my SV prem + tech + wing + Gap + 100k bumper to bumper for under 30 OUT THE DOOR, this was an old unit tho, i checked recently and you can pick one up now for 30-32k + tax, tag, and title....

Might have been worth it for me to pick one up out there. Oh, well--I got mine for $500 less than the cheapest of the two one-price, no-haggle dealers in town, and they also included winter mats. Probably not bottom-dollar, but still a very fair price. Fitzmall looks awesome, though--thanks for posting!

Well, there is a $2500 Rebate and additional $2500 Dealer Cash on the 2011's right now so that helps a lot. Other than that, the dealer still had over 20 2011 Maximas that they need to get rid of.

Got a couple more grand off.

I really thought the $2k offer link I clicked on Edmunds might have been a scam. Offering additional 2,000 visa card for a Maxima purchase without the dealer knowing anything. Since I was buying anyway, I filled out the form thinking I was probably dealing with some kind of a con.
Yesterday, I got the Citi visa card with $2k.
Maybe one can believe and trust on the internet....(not.)

Nice, I sent in for that too, but it has only been a week so I am still waiting for mine.

I was not 100% sure it was legit either, but I figured that Edmunds was a pretty reputable website so I was fairly confident about it.

REBATE DEBIT CARD

I bought mine on the third of Jan. Got the Visa on Feb 17th. $2000 on a debit card and I can't figure out what to spend it on. Costco would not take it. (Has to be run as a Visa credit card.)
But I have it and will buy buy something on sale...
Maybe a Nissan extended Warranty. Anyone know what is the best deal for a 7 year/ 100k extention (Only Nissan factory)?

Thinking of taking advantage of the 0% for 60 finance....and some other incentives.

I have a 2009 SV Sport no tech (silly should have got tech)
only 18k miles

wondering what kind of deal I could make on a new 2012 loaded sport or premium plus technology?

I wouldn't even consider it unless it was a great deal, but dealers apparently are dealing on these cars...thinking of getting into a 2012 for a great price fi they give me good value for mine.

I just purchased (2 weeks ago) a 2012 Maxima SV with Premium and Tech package for $33,900 before TTL. MSRP was $41,250 so I thought I got out with a pretty good deal.

Expect to not get 0% financing AND the rebates. I had to pick one or the other. I went with the rebate and I'll just pay my car off sooner to avoid finance charges.

I just bought a 2012 premium/tech/everything a couple of weeks ago. Sticker $41,250. I too had to choose either $1500 rebate or 0%. I went with the rebate since I usually pay off within 2 yrs. Paid $500 below invoice. With rebate came to around $35k before TTl which was a decent price. If I really felt like playing hardball w/ the salesman I could have probably gotten more off...oh well. I got the car I wanted.

Picked her up tonight.

2012 Maxima SV Sport Package, Sport Tech Pkg., splash guards, wheel locks

edit: this car was a "newer" 2012. only had 3 miles on her so I knew she hadn't been test driven.

Sticker - $40,645
TrueCar.com price - $34,240
Haggle price - $34,000 + ttl

YMMV.

No, I went with the rebate instead of the 0% since interest rates are so low I was able to get a good enough rate which made taking the rebate a better offer for me.
