How much did you pay? *New car shopper*
I got the Tech, Sport and Premium Pkg. The only thing I didn't get was the dual moonroof. Just the one in the front of the car. Haggle, haggle and haggle is all I can say to do. Good luck with your purchase. You'll love the car. I swapped out all the LEDs in the car, HID bulb replacement to 10k and HID conversion 10k for the fogs and installing the Viper 5901 at this time. Once completed, I'll post picks. New to the forums so it was nice to meet you BBMaxi.
I bought a dark blue 2011 S model about a month ago for $27,900 plus the $1,000 rebate from Chantilly Nissan in Norther Virginia. For some reason according to the dealer the S models don't sell as well as the SV models in the Washington DC Metro area. My car had been on the dealer's lot for about 5 months (the car had an inspection sticker on it with an expiration of August 2011, so I am sure that they were itching to get rid of it. Not sure if it was an outstanding deal, but I was happy with the final price.
so long as ur happy with ur vehicle(aesthetics, performance, etc.) and with the price u paid for it...it's worth every last penny. We all want our dream cars today but when u get a deal like this sitting in ur lap u can't pass it up...I believe u did the right thing in purchasing it at the price u got it...good purchase..now it's on u to make any neccessary changes to it to have it to ur liking, if need be. ENJOY!!!
I picked mine up for $32,200.
2011 3.5 SV with Premium package. Super Black.
BTW, is anyone here reminded of the 1960's batmobile (Futura?) when you look down the hood from the driver's seat? I call her the batmobile.... It looks like the arc of a set of batwings to me.... Pretty cool.

Just bought a new 2010 Premium Package
Hey guys,
Proud new owner of a new Nissan Maxima! I just purchased a new 2010 Maxima SV Premium Package in dark slate with rear spoiler, splash guards, floor & trunk mats, and trunk sub floor organizer for $30K + $190 doc fee + TTL with 2.99% APR for 60 months with $7K down. Here is the breakdown:
$38,250 MSRP
$34,814 Invoice
$33,000 Sale Price
-$2,500 customer incentive (in lieu of 0% APR for 60 months)
-$500 bonus customer incentive
+$190 doc fee
+$1,660 taxes
+$10 license
$31,860 OTD.
I live in Wisconsin and looked up dealer inventory for 2010 Maximas for dealers around the midwest (Wisconsin, Illinois, Minnesota, and Iowa). I e-mailed about 8 dealers last week and got prices. I was able to negotiate this price based on Edmunds prices paid thread in their forum and prices at cars overstock. It seems like prices aren't as competitive in the Midwest as it is at a place like Northern Virginia, so I feel like I got a fair deal.
I love the car so far!

Good luck on your car search, popculture. Did you reject the offer because you are holding out for a better price or because the dealer wouldn't give you a break down on the price?

Sounds real good to me, thats a 39k car right there. And a brand new one if ur lucky is like 30k+ plus taxes. So I would say that its a great deal. 12k miles is nothing for these cars.
wow im amazed at the prices you guys are getting. here in Miami dealers are not under-selling these maximas. ive visted 4 dealers..countless amounts of email and still not getting near what you guys are getting. ive noticed that in the car lots you see tons of altimas and very little maximas. makes me wonder geez how many maximas are they really selling...all you see on road is altimas. in any case heres my situtation. the opinion of you guys is greatly appreciated.
i have a 2008 nissan altima 2.5 s sedan...with 85,000 miles on it. yup i drive a lot. i bought this new in 2008. if i get new maxima i would put way less miles on it as i drive less. altima is in great conditions...but high mileage...2 dealers gave me $7500/1 gave me $8000/1 gave me $9000. the best offer i have dealer is like 50 miles aways. i owe $10,500 on altima so they would throw $1500 to new maxima loan. now best price i managed to get on a 2011 maxima SV/Sports Package is $31,798 and OTD price is $34,715.87 then add the $1500 from altima loan...minus $2000 down payment i want to give looks like ill be financing $34,215.87...72 months 1.99 apr payment @ $495.00. i was paying $375 for altima. what you guys think? dealers in miami are tuff. i really want to upgrade to a maxima. as im about to file a bankrupcy and i wont have credit for the next 5-6 years. i want to stay with a good car. my altima is financed via nissan and since my payment history is awesome i have a approval via a VRU...so they wont be pulling my credit report...ofcourse i have to trade in the current car i have. what you guys think? thank you.

i say keep at it, negotiating the prices, because if they really wana sell u a car they'll find a way to sell it at some mid-point...now what u have to do is some more research and see if u can check with some dealers a little further away from u. As i was in search of my 2011 3.5sv the original dealer quoted me at 41k so i walked out, struck a deal with another dealer that was no less than 100 miles away from where i live (nyc)..then brought it back to the original dealer and they matched that offer...so my advice to u is if u REALLY want this car, which i must admit is a great car, then do ur homework as diligently as possible and it will all pay off at the end...don't take the last offer they gave u as a FINAL offer...they can ALWAYS do better than that...ask them how much it cost them(dealer) to buy the car and use that as ur base price to work from...usually for a 2011 3.5sv the dealer buys it for around 30-31k...GOOD LUCK!!!

Try http://www.truecar.com/ for seeing what others are paying in your area. It will even get confirming quotes from nearby dealers, but if one of them is the same as the one you are working with now you may want to be upfront about it and not get their sales people cross-threaded.
A couple of other good sites if you want to see some good strategies for negotiating are below:

i tried this and printed price certificates. 2 dealers practically laughed at me...other say no way u crazy...im like wtf!!??!!??!!? dealers in miami are bad....im considering heading out north to get better pricing
Did you go to any of the dealers that are listed on the site? Did you use the site to send out requests for price confirmation? I did in my area (northeast) and got back several responses that were at, near or even below the TrueCar price. I think that site is a service these dealers sign on for so if they're not going to honor the pricing then they could get pressure from Truecar. Not expecting you to be the internet Cop but the database pricing shouldn't be FOS either. Good luck sj.

im a General Contractor...because of the mortgage meltdown...3 of my properties went into foreclosure....by the end of this year im filling my bankruptcy to get rid of this bad debt. i have asked my lawyer about this purchase. he said it is fine as long as i affirm the loan. and i would need a gap of 6 months for judge not to question purchase. im filling for chapter 7 not because im broke...but because of 3 properties that i bought for 260k+ and are now worth 100k...in 05 i financed a 05 titan with nissan...i paid that off in 2009. in 2008 i financed 08 altima..been paying that on time...never missed a payment. so since i have a VRU pre-approval from nissan and in order to get new maxima i need to trade in altima...they will not pull my credit. since im about to have no credit for the next 5-6 years i want to stay with a good reliable car...i also dont want to depend on someone else to get a car under their name. so thats why im doing this...fyi...my new house is under my wife name..and last week i got her a new 2011 Rogue SV under her name...we just had our 1st newborn...she managed to get 0 percent APR for 60 months. thing is... now that dealer wont go lower on the maxima price..ive bought 3 cars from this nissan dealer..and with the maxima they've treated me like crap. fact is they are one of the most expensive one..and are about 10 mins away from my house. also since wife credit is very new...nissan wont finance her a second car...im 28 years old by the way

Im sorry to hear this, and I wasnt trying to butt into your business or judge you. I suppose if your lawyer tells you its fine and your not doing a Chapter 11, then I have no place to speak on this matter. Keep haggeling that dealer, and if they keep being like that, tell them you'll take your money somewhere else! Oh and congrats on the little one!!
work the system! makes no sense to hold on to property when when its upside down. the banks will be doing the same thing.

the dealers just adjust the price to compensate for the 0 apr and vice versa.
the best thing to do if one can, is to buy it cash and take all the incentives. that's like 2500-3000 dollars and they can't screw with the apr.

what im gonna start doing monday is forgetting about low 1.99apr/72 months and concentrate on who gives me the lowest OTD price. im willing to go up to a 4.5 apr on 60/72 months. keep you guys posted.
Here's my take on it -on a 34k loan, if you go with the Nissan 60 mos. 0% the monthly payment is $567, compared to 60 mos.@4.5% the monthly payment is $634. You save over 4k over the life of the loan. So even if the dealer has to add 1K to the price of the car to get you the 0%you still come out 3K ahead.
its ok..no problem. and thanks. my son has totally changed my life. kids are a big blessing. now back to the maxima...yesterday after work i actually went to a local dealer that called me and said they would beat any offer i had up north. this is one of the dealers i had visited. so i told him price over phone...OTD/finance 1.99apr on 72 months/2k down payment. i told him beat that. so he calls me back and did by $500. so im like ok. i drove to dealer...when im looking at numbers. i noticed finance rate was @4.99% on 72 months. im like what happened to 1.99/72 months...hes like no i cant give you that...i have to add $1k back if you take that. so im like no...i got up..and i told him you wasting my time. you shouldve told me this on phone. before i left i told him if he wanted me to buy car now give me what he promised by phone. so i left. he said no nissan dealer will give me that. i told him hey im not in rush to get this car...i have time to shop around and get the best deal.
They will tell you watever they have to so you come in, bc they now most people get weak and end up buying the car bc they have to have it. Its good that you were able to get up and leave, you should keep on looking around for diff dealers.
New Maxima owner here. Traded in my 07' Honda Civic SI Sedan that was fun, but I wanted something more civilized, like my 05' Subaru Legacy GT Limited I once had, before I fell asleep at the wheel and totaled it.
Picked up a 09' program car from my local dealer. So it has never been "owned" and only had 7,000 miles on it. It is a SV with the Sport Package in Winter Frost. just about perfect condition inside and out, car barely tell it has been driven much. Paid $26,599 for the Maxima (not including trade which thankfully I got above kelly and nada blue book values) and it felt like I was treated fairly.

2011 SV Sport Package with spoiler, floor mats and trunk mat $32,400 out the door including the $1000 rebate with 5 year 0% financing.
By the way, here is a tip to hurry things up at the dealership. If you are buying a car, make sure and bring your kids to the dealer and let them roam the dealership floor. My 7 year old daughter and my 9 year old son were climbing in and out of a 370Z convertible, a Maxima and a Cube on the showroom floor, the black GT-R they had on the showroom floor was locked probably for good reason so they couldn't terrorize that car. I was like, "it's OK kids go and play, we are buying a new car they will let you do it". I don't think that I have ever bought a car more quickly in my life. They had me in and out of the dealership in about an hour.
