Just got my 09 SV

First day on forum, first Maxima and I LOVE it! Precision Gray, leather, Bose, cold weather package. Only thing I wanted was Nav, that orange screen kinda stinks. Paid 17,500$ with 38,000 and it is super clean. Added on a 2400$ 4yr bumper to bumper warranty with no deductible and 540$ for rust proofing, paint sealer and DuPont stain guard on the carpeted floors. Felt like a great deal, especially when I smile very time I look back at it! Just PlastiDip'd my alloy rims to see what black glossy wheels would look like without breaking the bank. Looks amazing and cost me 30$, everyone thinks I bought new wheels!

I picked up my new, 2013 S Maxima end of Sept 2013. Here's the breakdown:

- Sticker was $32,200
- $26,900 negotiated price
- 0%, 60 month finance terms
- traded in 2009 Sonata GLS (stick shift) with 80K miles for a $5500 credit (needs all new tires and new front brakes and rotors to pass inspection, also needs new driver side front axle due to torn boot)
- brought price to $21400
- Tax brought me to $22684
- title costs + misc dealer (bogus) fees = $416

I was out the door at $23,100.

I think the number to compare against is $26900 at 0% for 60 months plus the total title, license, and dealer fees of $416. Tax depends on what state you're in and the trade means nothing to other buyers.

I plan on buying soon either new/or used a 2012 or 2013. I dont have any experience car shopping so i was curious when shopping how do u start negotiating the price on the car? Do u just say nah i dont wanna pay that price or do u say something else, sorry it sounds like a dumb question.

Start by getting online and checking as many sites as you can. Also check the current incentives. At the end of the month, dealers are usually more willing to negotiate a price to move vehicles and "make their numbers". You can also typically do better if you buy last year's model when the dealership is starting to take delivery of the new model year vehicles.

Also shop around or at least call a few other dealerships to get an idea of an average price. Then you can tell dealer 2 that dealer 1 was ready to make an offer/accept an offer thats lower than what dealer 2 started at. If it backfires just walk away.

Don't allow the sales person to take your drivers license. In addition try to be as non-commital as possible. This means don't say YES or NO when it comes to agreeing to price. Answer something along the lines of "That sounds fair, but I'm only here to check some numbers"

2010 SV premium (w/o tech package) @ 42,000 miles, pristine condition (certified)
$18,700 + $1995 for extended 7 year/100,000 warranty

question: do you guys think the extended warranty was worth it? They showed me the dealer price book and it was $1,854. Plus I got approved for 1.89% certified finance rate through NMAC so I end up saving over $700 in interest going that route instead of a higher non-certified rate of 3.39% w/o the certified "WRAP" extended warranty. in effect the warranty comes out to $1300 if I end up paying over 60 mo. BUT -- if I cancel the warranty after 60 days, the bank keeps the 1.89% rate and doesn't revert it back. AND -- it's a zero deductible gold preferred plan.

Thing is... I feel like that's a pretty good deal. But I hate warranties and I know they're put into place to make companies money. Do I keep it?

2012 Premium with Tech, Crimson Black, every option except lighted door sills and spoiler. 12k miles for $26k...wasnt originally looking at Maximas ( this is my first) but couldnt be happier. I thought the transition from my 2010 Jeep Commander Limited with the 5.7L HEMI to a sedan would be difficult, but the Maxima has been great these past two weeks and i dont miss my HEMI ands its 13 MPG one bit.

Looking to add factory spoiler this Christmas as well as a CAI (for the sound) and i have been looking at Eibach springs as well. Maybe its just because I am coming from a Mopar background, but I am a little disappointed in the catalog of performance upgrades for the Maxima. Neither Super Chips or Diablo Sport make any tuners for it, which was a surprise.

www.truecar.com I've bought three Nissans through TrueCar and could not have been happier. The dealer just sat back and let it go.

I just priced out a full loaded '14 Premium on TrueCar with Tech, mats and splash guards and in my area of MA is comes out for $32.4, which is $6.8K off MSRP. This works out to be essentially the same as what I did for a '12 about 18 months ago.

Traded my 2001 maxima with the dreaded computer problem which they replaced then fried the new iac valve which I replaced and the computer months ago and got sick with it . In short I got a 2011 maxima sv with 19000 miles on it without the knocking and CPo for $24,000 with the sport Package which is without the navigation or rear camera . With 3.5% interest . I absolutely love the look and performance once you shift into the sport driving mode the shifts are much closer and it takes off .

Maxima 3.5 SV /Premium 27k

I just picked up my 2010 Nissan Maxima SV w/ Premium PKG and 5 year warranty on all parts; bumper to bumper and some other things, like protection pkg under car and over paint + the 3M film that goes on the front so rocks don't chip the paint. got it from a Luther Nissan dealer. I talked them down like $3,000. I bought it with ~38,000 miles. 7th gen, looks brand new. no problems at all.
I put $10,000 down and am paying around $346/month. i have a 0 deductible so if i have to bring it in and get anything fixed i don't have to pay anything.

was this a good deal?

this is after all taxes, came with plates/tabs

2013 SV ... Not a sport or premium but had one of the options packages. Traded a '12 Accord in early - rolled it into my purchase - after discounts plus tax, tags and the Accords balance - $40k. If I didn't have an early trade, would have been $33k and change after rebates and dealer cash.

New Ride

I purchased a 2014 Nissan Maxima SV Sport with the Technology Package and Floor Mats on Black Friday. I ended up paying the TrueVALUE price of $32,400 even though I did not use the TrueVALUE service. The car is Super Black and has the smoked out rims.

I recognize black cars are more work to take care of. I went ahead and purchased all the supplies to take care of the Maxima. The vehicle looks awesome when clean! I did have to take care of the first scratch today

This is my first post - - So, I wanted to say hello.

Just bought my '14 SV Sport Tech for $30,500 OTD. That's all taxes and fees included. I work for the dealer and had an additional One to One Rewards rebate of $2k because I previously bought a new '12 Juke SV. So, I got that $2000, $2500 customer cash, $1500 bonus cash, $500 NMAC bonus cash and $1500 VPP as a dealer employee. As an employee, that $8k in rebates came off the invoice price, not sticker.

It's white with mats, splash guards and the trunk organizer w/first aid kit. I think I did pretty good.

First post here and happy to be a new owner of a 2014 Maxima S (white). I didn't really care for many options since I already have plans for it. I took delivery on 12/31/13. I got a total of $6500 off in incentives and rebates, plus $875 below dealer invoice. So, that took a $31,000 car at MSRP to $29,000 (invoice $29875). With the $6500 off, plus ttl fees AND a bit of negative equity on my trade ($3500), I was out the door for $25000 (roughly).

They also threw in a spoiler and HID headlights for nothing when I inquired about the S with the limited package. It is basically a dress up package for the S (dark grill, wheels, HIDs, and a few others.

I basically have no business checking out new Maxima pricing, since I'm in the middle of my lease on a 2012 SHO (LOVE that car btw), and I only came to this site because we just picked up a 2002 Maxima SE for my high schooler. Still....doesn't hurt to noodle on the next car, right? One of my local dealers has several 2014 S models for just under $25k before TTL. They look like they have the ltd package because they have the darker metallic rims, and the msrp on them is $32,195. Looks like a great deal. My question is, what are you giving up by going for the much lower stickered S model, vs the loaded version where the sticker approaches $40k? Also the dealer is advertising around $7k in discounts on the base model, but only around $3k-$4k on the premium packages. Obviously, they would be negotiable down on those, but it seems odd. There's Nav, the Bose stereo, leather seats, sunroof? Any gotta haves on the higher line models?

I bought my 2011 SV for $17,300. I don't have any of the packages (Sport/Premium/Tech). I just have the leather really, but that's fine with me! It was in pristine condition both inside and out. You could tell the previous owner took really good care of it. Only had 36,000 miles too. It was pretty much a stock car, so I'll have some upgrading to do.

I got my 2009 Slate Gray Premium Packaged Maxima about 8 months ago Cert. Used from a Ford dealer of all places for 20k EVEN out the door... Had 35k miles on it... retailed for 26-28k from Nissan. Had it check out at the Nissan Dealer to make sure the FORD Dealer didn't treat it bad.

Hey guys, I'm new here this is my first post.. I've been lurking the forum for a few days now and ill be making the jump on a new maxima this coming monday. We have a deal worked out for a 2014 Maxima SV w/ Sport, Tech, Floor Mats, All Weather Mats, Illuminated Kick Plates, Wheel Locks, Splash Guards... for 32,5otd.. From what I have been reading so far I think its a steal. Just wanted your opinions, good and bad. Thats with all applicable incentives, VPP, and some hardcore negotiations that have been going on for a couple months now.

Congratulations. Good deal. Probably not a steal. About the going rate with some good negotiation. I just bought a 2014 sport/tech three months ago.

Nissan dealers try to make it sound like the car should cost more and try and start negotiations pretty high up there. If you find one eager to make a deal you can get a pretty good price.

The same car will probably cost more in NYC or LA than in Little Rock so have to consider that also.

Figure I'll chime in. Bought a 2014 Maxima SV w/ SV Value Package (heated everything, 9-speaker BOSE), illuminated kick plates, splash guards.

28,900 out the door. Anyone looking for a good deal in VA consider Brown's Nissan.
