Post Drain & Fill, Transmission fluid. Replacing External Filter

Hello everyone, im new here and can't seem to find a answer to my question.
I'm about to do a drain and fill on my 09 maxima's transmission and had a question about replacing the external filter.
Can i replace it later on. as in a few weeks later? The part is $87 at the dealer and found it online for $35 USD ($48 CAD) so i would save almost $40 if i wait for it in the mail.
Also another question, i bought a new tranny screen and gasket. Any risks of it leaking from the pan if i replace it with a new screen and gasket?

How many miles on your 09?
Change the filter first. You can drop the pan and clean it. If you have a new pan gasket and applied correctly why would it leak? pan bolts need to be torques per FSM

i have 210,000kms (130,000 miles) the filter wouldn't come for a week or two and since i was going to travel 3hrs away this weekend, i did a drain and fill.
i read that a new gasket if over tight might leak and wanted to know how to prevent it from leaking. But now i have come up with a major problem. https://maxima.org/forums/7th-genera...09-maxima.html
