Close...the threaded part stays the same and the lower mount changes depending on the vehicle. I talked to someone at Ksport today and that's what he suspected.

I bought mine around 2 years ago.

I'm going out there now to work on it again. I'll try the oil filter remover, but I don't know if I can hold it, the wrench and swing a hammer by myself. If that fails, I guess I'll take the whole assembly off of the car so I can put it in a vice and break the collar loose.

Their response was that it should not happen, but it is out of warranty. New ones are $50 each and both of mine are coming apart. I did however get them to agree to fix mine if I send them in. So I will pay for shipping both ways and we'll see what happens.

I did try the oil filter remover and the parts were so tight there was no way that would work. So I removed the entire coilover assembly and put it in the vice where I was able to get the collar off with a hammer and some WD-40. Unfortunately, even with the vice I cannot screw back together the two halves of the lower mount.

Funny thing is, I called in the other day because I noticed a shock they replaced (under warranty) was blown. It's been under a year so I told them to send me one to replace it (under warranty). Then, I told them this is going to be the 5th shock I've had to replace in two years and told them my other rear shock is going. He told me he would send me two shocks, so hopefully they will...

Im new here, been reading this thread for what seems like forever now though. Just got my gt pros the other day, only got a chance to put the fronts on because one of the rear lug nuts seized up and its been raining ever since. Anyway so far so good, install was very easy and everything seems good after around 150 miles. No clicks or pops(yet). The ride up front was real bouncy for a while, but settled a lot and to be honest feels a LOT nicer than stock GLE. Just gotta get that lug off!!

For me, yes. Hitting bumps on my stocks was a little harsher than the gt pros. They make the bumps feel bigger but smoother over the bump instead of the stock slam over the bump. Maybe something was just terribly wrong with them and im clueless.

Wow this sounds like a cool deal .. Ive been having alot of problems with Clunks and I always tighten.

My car aint that low i got 2 finger space between the tire and fender, but i am noticing CV light clicks on the drivers side .. How can you tell if your Axle is "bent"

well its just that its under more than normal stress load due to the lowering, thus the axles are under more load. check and see if your boots are okay.
if there torn, you'll know. and if they are, i would replace them soon b/c all the debris, rocks, whatever that gets inside deteriorates the cv joint.

the actual axle will not be bent but the angle it connects from the transmission to the hub will be not straight

I like it firm, not harsh. Mine right now will spill drinks going down the highway...and through the city, if you hit a bad road transition, or bump, you're gonna wish you saw it earlier and slowed down/avoided it.

oh yeh, yeh. i was about to say. no doubt i love the stiffer, more agile ride, but comfortability sucks, esp in downtown area w/ crappy roads.
i kinda miss riding on the clouds though lol.

That is SOOOOOOO True, Vice & propane torch FTMFW, I almost though I wasn't going to be able to replace a guys shcok because of that, I had to reheat the thing every 1/2 turn, it was insane! the ghey spanner wrench k-sport supplied was pintless, it bent in 2 seconds,I can't remember if I used channel locks or VG's

I threw those Ksport wrenches away. the only thing you need is a big screw driver and a hammer...

Ok.... so i was thinking.. i might as well post about this since it seems to be a decent issue about ksports...

i've had my ksports for 2 years.... i've had 2 struts blow on me.. one was still under warranty, the other just blew recently... the one that just blew was because i hit a railroad track really hard... it looked like it was smooth... guess not.. right after that, my suspension started making noises, and was bouncy as ****.. and sure enough.. blown strut front passenger side...

ive had the ksports for 2 years, and have driven close to 40k miles on them(yeah i drive a lot).... and only 1 blew out of nowhere, the other was my own fault.... I dont know about you but i kind of like those numbers.... it seems that some of you have bad luck with these.. but i'm very happy with my ksports...

this is basically my update to my original review on these when they first came out...

i dont think driving over one railroad track will cause a shock blow. it's the 2 years of driving that wore it out

So i have some questions, if i could get some answers please. yes i have looked all over online, anyways here goes. do the chamber plates come with the kit or would they be extra? what is the bolt pattern on them? would i be able to bolt them into my 85 or would i have to drill new holes? I am thinking of doing a 5 lug convertion (with parts from my 89)

thanks
vernk

IIRC Ksport doesn't sell coilovers for 3rd gens. the camber plates are included with the coilovers and they are up top in the upper strut mount.

naw i know that the railroad tracks were not the sole reason for them blowing, but that was the last that the shock was going to take... and trust me.. i hit it really hard..... never hit anything that bad with the ksports in untill than....

So I would have to order some for a 4th gen? So does anyone know if Nissan kept the same bolt pattern for the top strut mount (3 bolts) or if it was changed. Or if someone could snap some pics of mounting points (top and bottom) so I could see if this is possible to do.
