6x9s Do-able?

Can you have 6x9s custom fit into your door panels....well really all the way around a 1995 GXE?
Is it feasable to have done or is quite expensive and extensive?
I would like to have leave the interior door panels the same so no one could notice that there has been extensive work done to the car. Just keep the stock speaker cover on and everything. Y'all understand?

CAN I DO IT?

I think you could find an equal or better quality coaxial speaker in the stock locations. If anything, I KNOW you could get components to work and they will be better.

look at what Tony has done with his stock speaker locations (link above). He didn't have to modify anything and I guarantee his system sounds great. I know he has a 5th gen, but I was just showing an example of what you can do with the stock sizes.

Instead of trying to cram a speaker into a space, maximize the quality of speaker that fits in that space without any modification. Same goes for the rear speakers.

you could probably do it in the doors, but i think you'd have to fabricate some type of basket to put them in - they'll be way too deep if you flush mount them to the sheet metal in the door.

Ok then SkyBoarder's set-up in the back is QUITE Nice! I think I'll have to go with something like that 6x9s with after market 6.5s in the door panels....then maybe some tweeters, maybe. Well I guess I'll go with a Pioneer Premier speaker....if y'all know of anything else that would be good, please let me know.

Thanks guys

mine are the alpine 690A's. I got them from circuit city for 90$ for the pair. Took alittle work cutting out all the metal and then the carpet stuff on top. I had the speakers from my last car and they sounded great so i couldn't just let them sit there just because my new car couldn't fit them.
