Need help installing new HU

1999 Maxima SE with Bose.

So my Bose HU died and I happen to have an old aftermarket HU lying around. It is the JVC kd-s580. The bad thing is that it only has pre-amp outputs for 2 rear speakers. I bought the antenna converter, the metra console kit, and the metra wire harness with 4 RCA plugs. I was able to convert the front channel RCA plugs to wires with some of the RCA jacks that I had in my parts bin. I hooked everything up and I was left with the following wires unconnected:

From the metra connector:
Power antenna
Amp Turn-on (Amp Ground cable is grounded)
Illumination
Dimmer +
Dimmer -
Phone Mute

From the HU connector:
Right Rear +
Right Rear -
Left Rear +
Left Rear -
Power antenna

NONE of my speakers do anything, but my HU turns on and functions properly. I would at least expect something from the rear because it is plugged in directly from the preamp outputs but no.

Do I need to hook the Amp-on wire to something? It seems like the only possible answer to me.

yes the amp/remote turn on needs to be connected. Otherwise you will get no sound output.
