Tink tink tink from left wheel
#1
Hi guys,
Sometimes (but not always) I get a tink-tink sound from the left front wheel. Usually when I am moving slowly and turning right. Sortof like the sound you'd get if you were tapping a butter knife on a full can of soda. It seems to be one tink per wheel revolution.
I also noticed today that I got the sound while braking.
Ideas? I do *not* want to bring it to my dealer, they suck.
Thanks,
/aac

I got that problem once. Took it do the dealer, and it turned out to be that the brake rotor/pad was bent a little. It cost $~110CDN to get a new one.

My 95 did something like that, but not until 80+k miles. Turned out to be outer CV joint (see other post if you're bored; lots of CV type stuff on here tonight). Cleaning and re-packing the joint made it go away. Too bad you hate your dealer. Whatever it is shouldn't cost you squat ... for now.

I had this problem once after taking it to the dlr for an oil change and tire rotation. Seems that they forgot to put on the wheel lock nut, and it was banging around in the plastic bolt cover! It was intermitent noise at first, like u described, so hope it helps.
