Best Way to Affix Tweeters under pillar?
Hey, i was wondering whats the best method too use too affix some tweeters underneath the a pillar in 2k/5th gen maximas???....ive got the pos clarions out.... and its jsut bare metal under neath.... i thought maybe some double sided tape (says its out door and can hold up too 5 pounds) but the space on the back of the tweeter is so limited too actually gettin a good contact with the tape....anyone elseh ave any other sugestions? or what u used? how about velcro?
i just drilled a small hole in the metal and put the bracket provided (smallest one) from the tweeter on that then, placed the tweeter in the bracket. if i ever need to take my a pillar totally off and put it outside of the car, i dont need to disconnect my tweeter.
thanks for the suggestions... i went with an epoxy and velcro lol, it seems to be good, plus the piller sits pretty snug with them, so i think it should be all fine and dandy!.... now i jsutn eed my box 2marrow, and i can put my amps in.......the inside of the car is done.. wahoooooooooooooo
Epoxy Putty is best. You can buy it at just about any HW store. It comes in an 1" thick by 6" long plastic tube. It is a much beter all-purpose product than even duct tape (jk). I have not used it for this in my Max, but I have use it in other cars.
All of you decided to attach it on the a-pillar? That's suprising. I was advised by the speaker manufacturers to not move them that far away from the speakers and told that a position in the door would be best. (It's also the easiest install available). I put them right in front of the door handles.
