i can indeed confirm it because I installed the manifold piping. This feeds from the rear header to the turbo from the underside of the cast manifold. Quite well done if I say so.
unfortunately I would have to get a lift to be able to photograph the piping.
I have been bound by agreement not to release the kits' instructions to any other party (just like if you were to copy a book and distribute it over teh intranets), BUT i will tell you it has a pic of it clearly showing how it is set up.

I have a customer who already has a turboed maxima w/3.5l engine swap and he also wants to turbo his daily driver when I replace his engine shortly, and he asked me my opinion on this kit. Before I even did any research on maxima.org or noticed on your site that it was initially designed for the VQ20 Cefiro, I saw T28 and sorta laughed. I told him that was junk, way to small for any 3.0L V6 nevermind one with such an amazing volumetric efficiency in its N/A form. However, he mentioned that you guys had adaptor flanges available for a T3. After Doing some research on Maxima.org I soon learned that even if you guys don't have adaptor flanges, they are available elsewhere.
So, I was wondering what else you guys would be able to supply for a turbo with this kit, I'm thinking something in the range of a .60 a/r on the compressor side and .5x on the exhaust turbine. Also, do you have any more information about your 2 additional injectors, how they are controlled relative to boost etc, and would it be possible to get the kit for slightly less, or offset the additional cost of a different turbo by getiing it without any fuel upgrades. Also, If you could please supply a compressor map of whatever turbo you guys could substitute that would be awesome, allthough I'm sure I could find it if it's to much of a hassle.
At the bottom I have provided a link to the thread on Maxima.org about your turbo kit. I think you will find it very beneficial to register on the site and participate in the thread. This way other members can speak directly to you and ask questions, it will also help you figure out exactly what the majority of them are looking for, and in the end will allow you to put togethor a much nicer package that will sell much better, in addition to building a raport and reputation with your customers. Please help us maxima guys out! We need something now that the PFI kit is no longer in production http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=391713

Been following the project for a while now so I'll subscribe.
Doc, Any updates on the bigger turbo? Did you get it installed/dyno'd
Blackbird, Any progress for you yet?
I am also interested in the kit. I think a 3.0 kit would easily be modified to fit the 3.5 So this would deffinately be an easier starting point than going custom.

Based upon what I have seen,this kit with some minor modification will fit a 3.5
the very good news;
your 3.5 is the same block as the 3.0 just with different parts (to simplify) so fitment would be identical to mine.
- trouble areas you might run into;
intercooler piping- different front clip might mean shortening/ lengthening i/c piping.
-finding the rpm signal wire on your ecu and mating it to the injector control module.
- ohh my...... where will I place my boost gauge???
- intake piping into the turbo, room constraints are slightly different on a 3.5.
-the space between the radiator (if upgrading the turbo) may be very tight depending upon what turbo you choose. what will not be so much of the issue will be the exhaust turbine housing,.. I figure you can put in a t3/t4w/o many issues. ******* worst case scenario,.... buy a set of thinner fans. there is at least an inch or two of play between the radiator fan and the compressor housing with stock fans. YOU MUST BUY THE NEW FRONT MOTOR MOUNT (incl. in the kit) REGARDLESS!!!!!! stock will not work at all.
In doing this kit, this is what I have evaluated as "maybe" areas of concern when doing this kit on a 3.5.
word to the wise: if you build it,.....they will come.
Although I am shopping for a bigger turbo, I have not determined which direction I would like to go as of yet.
I am however curious as to Blackbird's progress on his turbo endeavor

Chris grab yourself a t3/4 and just change the flange on the manifold and you'll be good to go..maybe a minor mod here or there on the intercooler piping. The 2inch piping will be fine till around 280-300whp, so get it tunned to run about 275-290whp and then you'll have a nice kit. And if you want more power then just change the intercooler piping to 2.5 and then the sky's the limit....(tranny)

I would be inclined to say yes if you contact the Ebay seller that Kevlo mentioned on the bottom of page 4 of this thread. Apparently he can make the T-25 manifold plate that adapts to various sized turbochargers on the other side. It is because of that machined adapter that is keeping me interested in this kit.

there is, clock the compressor side it should fit, exahaust side you have alot of room ( enough for a gt35r),.... here's the possible catch,... You may have to change out your radiator and fan set ( along with the coolant piping) which is not hard. some orgers have done it. t3/t4 should not be a problem. even a gt2871rs will fit with little or no changes needed.

I am hesitant only that the price for a t3/ t4 new is a bit higher than I would like. I can flip my t-28 for around 650.00 I have to come up with another 500-700 bucks- not to mention a re-tune (another 120.00 which is not bad)( I only pay cash for my mods No matter what it is- dont want any outstanding bills) UNLESS ANY OF YOU CAN FIND A T3/T4 FOR CHEAP (cause I cant seem to find them in my price range).....hint, hint.

I agree with you maxboost 100%. Only trouble I am anticipating running into is since I am automajic i will need to do a tranny swap for sure ( cause we all know that once you go boost,... you want more power )

Stupid Question: So if a properly sized turbo would have fit in the kit turbo's normal location, why the hell did they put a peanut sized turbo in the normal kit instead of a reasonably sized one?

I would use and internal. They are just as adjustable as external. and just as reliable. ALso if doing a custom job leaves for less pipe work also. If you look docs setup is an internal wastegate. My old dsm runnig 22psi was internal. Yea extenal looks cool but i would much rather have an internal.

So I emailed turbos pecialties and they said they would send this turbo: http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...R_743347_2.htm
instead of: http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...S_739548_1.htm
Well idk if thats the actual turbo but it says in the first links discription its the direct upgrade for the second link.
Any one think that would be an acceptable turbo for this kit for our engine?

you can make up to about 400whp on a 2871R. whether or not the piping on this kit is able to support that much flow is another topic entirely - I highly doubt it is - but that 2871r is a much better fit than that mini turbo the kit normally comes with.
