Greeny do you know where I can get a new or remanufacturd one? I looked at autozone but couldn't find any 'throwout bearing'. Is there another name they go by?

Thanks I just read that they come with the exedy clutch kits so I won't need to purchase one seperately, since i need the clutch kit too. Can somebody elaborate on what is in figure 6 on here aside from the clutch cylinder? Thanks. I gotta pull those parts next weekend.

master cylinder, slave cylinder, hydraulic clutch lines (recommend a stainless steel line to replace all that), a clip that holds a fluid line (not sure if its clutch or brake, if its brake, you dont need it), a couple of nuts, and a wire (clutch sensor, mebe?).

chentowen:

the "block" for the clutch hydraylics (right side of pic)
http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...p/IMG_1304.jpg

exedy clutch kit comes with all of this (EXCEPT the flywheel.. that was separate):
http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u...s/IMG_1574.jpg

also remember to get the "gussets".. the things the lower 6 tranny bolt holes go through into the tranny

im back guys with yet another question... its about wheels this timeim thinking 19"s but ive seen everybody with 18"s is it because the 19"s rub and have less tire or is it because the 18"s give u more tire space...?

it might be more a matter of the wheel width, and the offset. 7" width with a 35 offset will fit beautifully.. but i don't think you'll find alot of 19x7's... it might also have to do with using tires that are slightly under-width (ie stretching) which makes the shoulder/treadpatch a little bit narrower than the rim itself, meaning that you can run a wider rim than you could if you ran the 'proper' width tire. For example i have 225mm on 7" width.. stretching would be 205mm on a 7" to keep the same rims, or an 8" rim if i wanted to keep my tires. But there are risks associated with stretching.. so it's best if you can use width and offset to take care of the majority of the rubbing, rather than using a narrower tire.

Caped, thanks for the pics that really clears it up. Looks like i gotta pull that block and the slave cylinder (it is attached to it, right?). Is that a fidanza flywheel in the picture? I am looking at the oem replacement exedy clutch kits (about 150) but the flywheel is real expensive (300+)? And do you have any pics of the gussets? Thanks again for all your help,

Mike

Caped kinda hit around the answer; there isnt enough rubber. if your max is a daily driver, then 19s (even 18s) are too big for a decent ride. too little sidewall to absorb the bumps. I think that is why there are so few maximas with 18s, and 19s. technically, I think a 20 could fit (OD of tire is about 25.5 or so, too lazy to google atm), but the ride would be so harsh, you would get back problems driving it (or maybe the harsh vibrations would act as a massage? )

the slave cylinder bolts onto the tranny case.. there's a rubber hose that connects that to the block.

the flywheel in the pic was an OEM one. I have a fidanza you can buy for $225 tho if you want it. They are like $350 new.

gussets are bolted onto the engine just above the oilpan and reach down and rap around the driver side of the oipan, where the tranny bolts in at the bottom. you also need those spacer plates. the gussets are 30429 and 30429M

yea.. that's the thing i never quite got why people want to say "19's will rub" cuz as long as the rim is narrow enough, and the sidewall is short enough, then you won't rub. but yea, the ride will be awful.

fawk a look, if I have to drive it every day, for an average of an hour of my time, I don't want to put a friggin tire/wheel combo on it that is going to make that hour more miserable than a trip to the doctor for a rectal exam (at least, one can imagine it would be that bad)

LEDs SUCK for lighting up spaces.. they are good as indicators if you see them head on, but not for outright illumination. I'd suggest a Cold Cathode tube like you can get in the computer case section at Best Buy or Tiger Direct.. it's designed to run on 12v already, so that would be a direct wire-in.

as for the hood light, there isn't one. if you want to add one, you will just have to figure out a good place to mount something, with a glare shield on it to direct the light down rather than out.

not a wheel guy, but for others, here are the specs:
Front:
* Weight: xx lbs
* Size: 19 X 8-1/2J
* Material: Aluminum
* Offset: 43 mm
* Tire Size: 225/45WR19
Rear:
* Weight: xx lbs
* Size: 19 X 9J
* Material: Aluminum
* Offset: 45 mm
* Tire Size: 245/40WR19

edit: after re-looking at the sizes, I am pretty sure that no matter what tire you put on there, with whatever spacers, they are still too big for the car. not 100% but still sure.

steam clean, add dye to antifreeze, start motor and look for source of dye.
It most likely the water pump.

2-door maxima is photoshopped, not a real car.
edit: they also had a concept drawing for a 2 door max, but they never made it.

ok first thing, please use periods to end sentences, seriously confusing. next there are no two door conversions that i am aware of. ive see suicide rear door kits claiming to be universal, but no two door kits for the gen3 or any other max for that matter, if you want two door get a Z.

the only two door max pic i have seen was illustration from car and drive another member posted.

all things are possible with enough stupidity and money.
you have kids and want to change from a 4 door to a 2 door?
you have kids and are doing 150 on a public road?
