I may be mistaken, but isn't or wasn't the cefiro the j-spec maxima, although RWD with the rb20det? Same body, different drive train... I could be way off.

Edit: I am way off. It was closest to the Laurel and Skyline & was the basis for the Sylvia. Maybe next time.

no, not the same. one of the guys here sent me some sweet pics of a maxima> a31 front clip conversion, awhile back. he asked me not to show anyone, but he hasn't posted it up, so idk if he ever fully finished. but it looked good.

it took a bit of work to do, remolding the grille, hood, and some other stuff, but he did it.

the propane indicates a vacuum leak not a bad MAF

Got my tranny out today, was a real tough one getting the axel off. The driver side axel boot broke open and peanut butter (ha ha) came out. Should I go to pick n pull and get another one in better condition or is there something i can do about it. Thanks.

Ok so i'm trying to unscrew the filler plug on my transmission but it won't buge a single bit, I used a breaker bar first didn't move a bit, and then i borrowed my friends impact gun and gave that a shot, but still won't buge. Is there a way to get this filler plug off??

i have a question,

for the exedy clutch kit it did not come with any clips on the throwout bearing but the ones on the throwout bearing that we took off the tranny has black metal clips that don't fit. Does the exedy clutch kit throwout bearing omit these clips?? thanks.

if they do not, it would be because they are just a smidge too big. should fit fine under 16"s for sure. (just installed some 13" brakes on a prelude w/17"s and they BARELY fit see here)

true sad to say the z i had was an 86 turbo, had if for a month then parted it. i was going to turbo my max with it but it became to costly at the time. rebuild the motor with a new turbo and jwt cams then sold it to a drifter. last year the jackass over headed the thing and F***ed it. oh well i made my money lol

if it uses the stock rotors, it seems like it should fit. you MIGHT have spoke clearance issues tho.. the SE (sawblade) wheels are wider with the same offset so that'll give you a few MM more spoke clearance than GXE wheels would... and the Z sawblades are 16x6.5+20 iirc. I think azurebluez has them

Are the VQ fuel injectors similar to the VE injectors? I am working on getting some refurbished ones. These have a two year; 24000 mile warranty.

Go ahead and laugh at me internetautomar...

you're still probably wasting your time with refurbished injectors... even if you get new ones for free you still have to take them off and change them and reinstall them, pray you don't mess up the o-rings, etc. if you are gonna put them on tho (i assume on a VE engine) then at least put the refurb in the front... since on a VE you can pull the front rail w/o pulling the intake.

Well that is the problem. I have two that are out; one in front and one right behind the other. So the intake has to come off anyway.

well.. if you just take one good injector from the front, move it to the back, then put both refurbs in the front just to make it easier if (when) they fail. for me it doesn't matter.. i have to remove the intake no matter what. which will be soon as #4 is reading 50 ohms but you can still save yourself the trouble of pulling the intake twice (unless a rear injector fails )

I had one that was reading 23 and the other 112 ohms. The car was vibrating real bad with these two under 1500rpm. The other four are comfortably between 12-14 ohms. The new injectors would be a solid red color, much like the ones that were pulled?

Also, are the pickup screens the same between the VE and the VQ?

hell if i know

they say they're the same part number.. so they should go straight in. part # matching is more important than color matching.

yea. wire the top one in series with the smaller connector on the brake pedal (cruise control cancel switch) and wire the bottom one from any 12v wire (i used one of the green/black wires from the harness plug that is clipped into the top of the ECU/TCU mounting bracket) and the other side, wire into the brown wire that connects into the back of the black relay that is on top of the left side of the SMJ (big wire junction behind the fuse box under the dash). On either switch, it doesn't matter which wire connects to what polarity.. all they do is complete a circuit.

then on the park/neutral switch, swap wires around until it looks like this (except i messed up. red/black, NOT yellow/black):

when i do the 5spd swap on nc90gxe's car i'm gonna make a definitive step by step writeup since although everyone always says "go search" or "look at the writeup" frankly, the 5spd swap writeup i saw kinda sucked... hard.... phasta's was far far more useful.
