I just bought PIAA 9004's for my Lows...its confusing because it says I need 9003's but these 9004's say they will work as 9003's as well. Will there be any potential problems if i hook them up and they dont work? Could they ruin my wires and stuff?

Parts interchange - rear axle???

I just bought a 2000 SE 5MT, and upon closer inspection (after I got it home and the cash is gone, of course) the rear axle beam is bent slightly, kicking both rear wheels out of alignment. While this isn't a huge deal in terms of changing the part, it would be a whole lot easier to find one if I knew better what else might interchange with it. I know that 2K-2k3 Maximas and I30's would be the same, but would the 95-99 fit as well? This would make my junkyard searching a whole lot more productive. Also, does the SE have any different specs than any other Maxima for this particular part - just the axle beam itself?

Thanks in advance!

When driving a stick is it really "bad for your car" if you shift really early sometimes (1500rpms) also I heard alot about the clutch slipping? What does this feel like?

The 4th gen wont fit, it's a slightly different design. So how can you tell it's bent?

9003's and 9004's are different bulbs with different connections.

does a front strut tower bar really do any justice when your car is not lowered? on a (2000 max)

Looks pretty. It would probably do more if you're not lowered.

Being lowered negates it's affect to some small extent. So therefore it's more noticeable if not lowered.

It's not a huge decision and is very cheap, get it and be done rather than asking a million people their personal opinion. Now if you want opinions, search, the answer you want to see is out there, and so are other opinions that you may not want to see/read.

Best if you sand them, make the surface rough so the next coat ‘sticks’ on there nicely, perhaps even primer it before.

I own a 2k1 maxima with stock wheels and perelli's. When I bought the car a couple months ago I didn't notice anything wrong, but now whenever I even slightly turn the steering wheel to the right I get a seemingly rubbing sound from my front right wheel...kind of like a "nrrr nrr nrrr" rather than a constant rubbing too...Any idea what this might be?

So will the bulb not fit or what? PIAA dosn't make 9003's from what i found and these 9004's say they are 9003 compatible.

The biggest thing I noticed was improved steering response. Feels a bit tighter in turns too.

My car isn't lowered, btw. Roads suck around here.

I can lay a straightedge along it and it doesn't lay flat. One of the shock mount welds looks cracked. Plus, the back tires sit at a wierd cockeyed angle. Obvious instant destruction for tires.

Now, the next question: I spent my lunch at a salvage yard today, looking at 4g rear axles, and it does, in fact, mount differently than the 5g part. Not much different, but enough for Nissan to claim a redesign.

I called another yard, and the guy said he had one for a 5G with factory 16" wheels, but not one for a car with 17" wheels. What's the difference? Just the durometer of the rubber bushings, or something more significant? Different width for different wheel offset? He had no idea. WTF, over?

9004 bulbs:

9003/H4 bulbs:

And yes, PIAA does make 9003 bulbs.

There's a thread somewhere on here discussing it with pictures, I'll take a look sometime to see if I could find it. But in the long run, you're better off spending a little more time locating a 5g unit and spend less time hassling trying to make it(4g piece) work.

Airbag Question in regards to me 2001 Maxima...

Hello, Basically I got in a light front end crash and both the Driver and Passenger side air bags went off in my 2001 Maxima GLE. I bought two new airbags and the SRS Airbag Module that mounts under the center console- but my question is, Do I have to replace the actual crash sensor that is mounted on the center beam of my radiator support behind the Nissan emblem on the grille, or can I get away with re-using it??? It looks like it is in perfect condition- I just don't know if it is a "one-time use" type of thing or not. Hopefully I can get away with re-using it cause it would save me almost $300 from the dealer. Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated!! Thank you!!!

Check the FAQ (http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=28014)

Scroll down and you will find the section on intakes.

That section is old and outdated and really doesn't give him the information he needs.

If you have a 5th gen MAF adapter then yes, the 4th gen intake from that 99 WILL fit your car. The only difference between the 2 is the MAF adapter.

I've been wondering this for a little while now, but keep forgetting to look/ask.

How much was a fully loaded 2002 Maxima SE? Or if you know, every option except for the navigation system? In US dollars preferably. As good of a guess as you have. Thanks
