Scroll down Einstein. And yes it does have one. All it is is a cord going to it. All AT's have it, end of story, you're wrong.

So I'm wrong, the world shall end.

Those VIN's do not represent the cars that only had electronic MM's, only the cars that had faulty/noisy units.

There 6½ inches in size

you need a custom mounting ring or the likes to install a aftermarket speaker.

quick question before i order ignition coils, i have a skip when i first crank the car, when its cold, and will continue to skip under light throttle till its warmed up, however recently it will just suddenly skip and literally throw you through the window when it does even when its warm, and about 3 weeks ago one coil completely quit working for about 15 minutes. HOWEVER when a CEL finally comes on i get the P1320 code (general ignition) so i'm going to just replace the coils and be done with it, my question is, i had to replace one last february, and another was replaced right before i bought the car back around january of 07, is it ok to just replace the 4 other coils that are not grey dot or do i need to just replace ALL 6

Supposed to be the one in front. The wire comes from the O2 sensor cord cluster and goes beneath the mount on the right (if you're facing the engine). If your car is one of the really early ones then I guess it possible it didn't get it, what's the VIN?

Perhaps get under the car, remove the shrouds, and take a better look.

Hmm, does this mean you couldn't care less to get on your back and see the other side of that front mount?

The sound is in the very rear of the car, it does sound like a creaking thunking motor running or something or pressure , i dunno what it is and it does not really happen very often, and no, iam not referring to the exhaust creaking.

Annoying rattle on dash(clock piece)

Just recently bought my 2003 Max, awesome car!! I do have a couple questions though. I have this really annoying rattle that has to do with the clock on the dash. I noticed today that the front of it has sort of come loose and EVERYTIME i hit a bump, it rattles. I pressed down on it firmly while I was driving and the rattling stopped. Is there an easy way to go about fixing this???

2nd question-
I most recently got an alignment done on it and I do notice an improvement. However, the steering is quite loose and I'm sure that it isn't how a Maxima is supposed to handle. I prefer a tight steering style. How do I go about improving this??

there are metal clips that keep it in place...one of those might be lose or gone completely

put the thumbs under the top front lip of clock....pull up in quick movement and it will pop out. there will two plastic pieces with metal clips on them.

Hello! I just bought a 2000 GLE. A little about me..im from western mass, im 26, this is my first non-domestic car (lol). Its a great car except for the fact that the check engine light is on. It was on when i bought it so they sent it to the Nissan dealership to get fixed and when i got it back they told me drive it 100 miles so the computer could reset itself then come back and they would do a state inspection on it (cuz in Mass they wont let you get an inspection with the CEL on). ok so i was at about 85 miles and the light came back on so i went back and they told me that when they sent it to the dealer they replaced the coils but when the coils were bad they must have fried the catalytic converter so now thats probably why the light is on again. Does this make sense? i dont know anything about these cars. all ive ever driven is chevys lol.

on a side note...this is a really great site. i was never really into maximas but now that i got one and found this site im beginning to like them more and more.

Best thing to do when you get a CEL, is go to Autozone and get the code scanned for free. Write down the code, and do a search here with the 4-digit code. It's hard to tell what the exact problem is without closer symptoms or a CEL code.

OT: How far west are you in Mass? Check the Northeastern sub-forum for local gatherings, etc.

Just a quick 5th Gen Maxima question. I own a 00 Maxima, just bought new headlights and I have also just purchased bulbs for all around the car.
I used the Sylvania replacement chart and I am just wondering if these parts will work, or if I need to buy more things.

I bought:
Fogs - PIAA Super Plasma GTX Bulbs H3
Side Markers - PIAA Super Plasma GT XLight Bulb 19283 (Wedge
Bulb Type 168, 194)
Lows - PIAA Xtreme White Plus (9004) Halogen Light
Parking -(the two oranges above the orange blinker) - PIAA Xtreme White Light Bulb 19228 (Bulb Type
1157)

I had problems finding PIAA 9003's ...so I found those 9004's and they say they are able to run as 9003's. On that chart it also says..."Note2: 9003 and 9004 bulbs used in '85-'01 models are dual-element bulbs which handle both high and low beams"

So should my PIAA 9004's work ok?

its a good thing the car has a warranty with it because the place i got it from is taking care of everything.
oh yeah the car stalls when its in park but only after ive driven it. when i warm it up in the morning it doesnt stall but if i go across town then come home and put it in park and sit there like after a minute it just shuts off. its never done it when its in gear or anything.

Hello....just had a new alpine head unit put into my 2003 max. I've noticed there is some static when listening to the radio now and even a slight static when I listen to CDs. What could be causing this and how can I fix it?
