I was in the same boat with the fog lights, the stock bulbs make them look like a fry bin heat lamp. The Pilot Hyerwhite simulated HID H3 bulbs they sell at Pep Boys for $29 that I used for my fogs are much closer in appearance to the HIDs.

I read that the 9005SU Silverstar ULTRA for Ultra Night Vision were the Whitest and Brightest Halogen. Don't remember the source, but thinking about checking them out soon.

Okay now I have a simple question, probably dumb, but need some help. In the trunk under the mat is a cardboard sheet that covers the spare and mine is bent and always sinks when I place luggage or anything with some weight on it, any suggestions on how to fix or replace it? Just gets annoying when everything sinks towards the center. Any help would be awesome. Thanks.

anyone have an idea how my car would ride with Illuminas paired with Eibach in front and Tein H-tech in the rear? Just read irish's thread about his Eibachs and too much sag in the back makes me think my 18" Z rims would rub...

just trying to save labor time and whatnot

you can have your querter panels rolled to prevent tires rubbing.

It depends on what the wheel offset and width are.

Hey,

I've noticed that my front, right hand side marker isn't lighting up anymore so I removed the lens and notice that the socket for the bulb is corroded* I'm guessing water got into it somehow. Anyways I need a new socket for for the bulb that connects to the harness. anyone know the part number? or the exact name so that when I go to the stealership they know what I'm talking about? thanks for your help.

194 bulbs. You can get them anywhere, no need to go to the dealer.

Hey guys, I'm new here. Just got a bone stock 2003 Maxima. This place has alot of great info. I tried the search but couldnt find what i was looking for so I'll ask here (sorry if you hear these q's all the time).

So I would like to change the color of the lights on the side of the car to clear, like in the first picture in this thread:
http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=556945
Anyone know a website where I can order a replacement cover for the light? If not, how would I go about changing it from the ugly orange it is now?

Also, I want to match the look of the fog lights to my head lights (which are really bright and almost blue-ish). What kind of light bulb comes in the stock headlights of an 03?

thanks in advance for the help!

he needs the actual socket.

OP, clean it up to see if it works. if it doesnt, just take it to the parts department and show it to them.

and learn to use the MACRO setting on your camera

Hello all, just curious as to what kind of remote start models/brands you might suggest? And what is an average price for something like that?

Barely running, MAF or Fuel Problem

I have a 2000 Maxima SE, 5spd that is barely running. At first it was acting starved of fuel, extra throttle would cause it to sputter, and letting off the throttle would cause it to rev higher. Now it's rev limited itself out at 2300 RPM. It will still sometimes sputter when given too much throttle at once, but it seems the computer has kicked it into some failsafe mode.

I took the MAF sensor out and cleaned it with throttle body cleaner and scrubbed it with a soft bristled painters brush, but didn't get any change. At this point I'm debating whether I have a bad fuel pump / plugged fuel filter, or if I need to replace the MAF sensor.

Sounds like a MAF problem to me, especially since you are talking about the limit of 2300 RPM.

I know this is a really dumb question to ask, considering they get stolen so easily, but i have an '03 maxima and am trying to remove the headlights so that I can clear them, but I cant seem to get them out. I remove the two bolts at the top, pry up the clip on the top, but I just cant get it out. what the heck am I doing wrong?! I have searched google and this site for the answer but haven't found it. If someone can point me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it. thanks

Just don't get the "super bright" LED versions from Pep Boys because they aren't bright at all. Right color (or close enough) to match the HIDs but very dim.

changed my maf and new code showed up

i changed my maf last week. everything was fine and now i have the p0135 (O2 heater circuit bank 1 sensor 1) and also p0160(low O2 activity ) bank2 sensor 2

i'm asking myself if those codes showed up because of the new maf.

From the information i got , if i change the bank1 sensor 1 the p0160 will disappear.

Need some inputs.

thanks

Here's my question. I was joyriding the other day and I'll admit that I kinda pushed the car hard and now I'm wondering why the car made a clanking sound when I parked. The sound comes from what seems like the bottom of the car. The sound continued on for about half an hour. Any ideas?

I have a stock 03 Maxima SE with an Automatic transmission

Well, sound are hard to describe, so try to be a little more detailed with your descreption. This "clanking" sound, does it sound like it's from the front, or from the rear? More on the left side, or more on the right side of the vehicle? And when does it do it? You say it made the sound when you parked, but then you say it made the sound for another half hour. So is this a sound that's around while the car is idling? Or is it a clunking sound when the engine is off? The more info you give us, the better we can help you. There are some very well informed people on this forum, that will probably be able to help you out if you give them more details.
