I saw on someones post they placed blue led's bellow the auto climate control console. I was wondering what led's would be used to do so. I tired him, but i got no response. Hopefully someone on here has done the same or knows which one to get from vleds. Thanks. (new to forums, 2002 Maxi GLE)

Is there any way you can fabricate the 3.5 engine cover for the 3.0 engine. I like the look of the 3.5 cover in the engine bay much better then the 3.0

The opposite has been done. I think it take more work than what it's worth due to the fact that the 3.5 IM is a bit higher than the 3.0.

Have you thought of an AE cover?

Ha I have actually been getting all the info i could on this. There was no write up on it exactly for the 5th gen, only 4th. But after reading and bookmarking a bunch of threads i figure its the same thing. I have never pulled an engine before, it seems intimidating ha. But the engine should bolt right up right? Only other thing i need would be the cam spacers from stephenmax and then just convert my tb. But thats it right?

I need some advice. I heard an odd noise from the rear passenger brakes on my 02 max. So, I took it to a mechanic and he showed me that the rear passenger brake pads were two different thicknesses. One pad looked fine but the other pad was half the thickness. He said the caliper might be frozen and I need to replace just that caliper. The cost of the caliper is 70, labor is 110(includes painting all four calipers). I think the price is reasonable but I am not sure if I should replace the caliper or try to fix whatever is keeping that pad stuck to the rotor. I put powerslots with oem pads on the rear brakes.

Caliper price seems fair, labor seems excessive. Not sure if you do any wrenching, but you can disassemble the caliper and regrease the pins. Sometimes it's a matter of that to fix the problem before actually replacing the caliper.

Well for the past 2 day I took apart the inside of my car and cleaned up the holes in my floor boards. They were pretty big when I was done cleaning them up. So anyways I scraped off the undercoating off the car and sparyed some foam gasket remover on the area to get the rest of the stuff off the bottom(that stuff even took the paint off) . Ithen started fiberglassing. I got 6 layers of cloth on top and 2 on the bottom(oh and a ton of resin) . Its solid and waterproof now!!!!! I painted the inside white and the underside primer gray. I am going to get some rubber undercoating tomorrow moring to finsher her off. I am sooo happy I got that fixed. It was my first time ever attempting to do something tlike that.

Replaced my first CV shafts on my wifes car the day before I wstarted on mine. Next week I will be replaceing all 4 struts and strutbearing on my car. Wish me luck(I hope I dont kill myself attempting that)

I am looking at getting H&R springs and Blue struts. What do you all think about that? I already ordered the strutbearings and plates for the front and mounting plates for the rear, oh new strut boots too.

I need to know whether or not this would be too dark. I want to smoke, not black out, my side bumper lights and part of my tails. i am debating getting this film
http://www.amazon.com/Insta-Cling-Ex...pr_product_top

Since i am just looking for a smoked red and orange look, will this be too much? and would this be a good tint for that application?

Let me know if you have questions about your front bearing replacement. I just replaced mine along with the CV Joint, Ball joint, tie-rods, etc.

there is an easier way to do this...with spray paint

these instructions are for blacking out...use less to smoke them

2-3 light layers of black paint (drying in between)
1-2 layers of clearcoat (drying in between)

even blacked out, the sidemarkers light up and reflect the proper color

what now replaced cps and ignition coils!!!???

first my check engine light is on,,,,, ok this my story, i recently replaced all my ignition coils, from someones that i brought off ebay,i put them in everything went just fine besides the part where the rubber connecter got stuck in the spark plug chamber on to the spark plug,,well anyways i replace them and i thought everything was fine but after turniing it on and off a couple times the light soon came back,so i took the neg and pos off the battery let it sit for about 15 minutes and now my tcs/off and slip lights are along with check engine WTF!!!!, so after some research i read that it could be the CrankShaftPostioningSensor,so i replaced the one on the left side, right off the front side valve cover,( i replaced this with the neg and pos off the battery,) it stood off for about 20 minutes and a whole crap load of me turning it on and off,......now its back on again and im just at the point right now,,thinking WHATS NEXT???????? HELP GUIDANCE PLEASE

I just purchased 2000 SE. I was under the impression that all 5th gens have a cabin filter. I can't find anything on the manual about air cabin replacement.

The cabin filter was an option for 00-01. It came stock on 02-03. Just look in your glove box, there will be a label if you have one. Either way you can still stick one in if you want

My SES light came on a little bit back and i want to get a code reader to see what is up. Which code reader would you recommend

http://www.amazon.com/Autel-MaxiScan...y_01_03_t_lht4

or

http://www.amazon.com/AutoLink-CAN-O...s_02_01_t_lht4

Or is there another one that would be better that is around that price range.

I have a very faint crunch going into 3rd gear in my 02 maxima 6sp. I've heard of the notorious 3rd gear crunch from a lot of people but this one is different and I'm hoping it may not be the same problem as everyone else is having. I can only feel the crunch when I am granny shifting (very slow shifting). If I shift at a normal speed its feels perfectly smooth, I can also rev 2nd gear up to 5000 rpm and shift fast into 3rd with no crunch at all. It only seems to manifest during slow shifting. Just to be safe I ordered some amsoil gl-4 gear oil. What do you think? Could it be something else, other than a weak synchro?

Remove the glovebox. It will be directly behind the glove box if you have one.

I've got a 2000 Euro-spec A33 with a VQ20 engine, and it's telling me I have a bad o2 sensor on 'bank 2 sensor 2'

Where is this sensor, and where's the best place to get a replacement?

Thanks.

I am pretty sure that all 5th gens came with the housing and plumbing for the filters. I could be wrong tho. I do remember reading it though. I will look into it

edit: Yeah i just checked mine out and the housing and plumbing are there. I have a 2000 as well

I just purchased a 2000 SE with 81k. I'm planning on changing all the fluids. I'm thinking about performing a tune up, but I'm still debating what things to get.

Here's my list:

1. Spark plugs
2. PCV valve
3. Fuel Filter
4. Throttle Body Cleaning
5. IAVC Cleaning (or whatever it's called)
6. New Air Filter

I'm still debating if I should replaced all coils. I have all service records and the MAF was replaced a few years ago so I'm cleaning that too. Only one coil has been replaced since new. It's not throwing any codes and it's running great. I'm thinking about running seafoam or bg 44k too.

What do you guys recommend?

Ok so it turns out that a close friend was going to put HID's in his car but decided to back out, so basically he is giving me a conversion kit. He said they are the 9006's, is this what i can use for my 2002 fog lights?

I really need some help here i changed the fuse and the relay and it hasn't blown yet, it seems like it takes a while before it goes out..
But now i have another issue, my driver side main window switch wasn't putting down the drivers side window (the auto one) so i met up a guy on Craigslist who had one for selling and i tried it on my car it looked exactly the same except both the driver and the front passenger had the auto up switch. Plugged it all up and it didn't work, night time comes around and now i see my dashboard lights where the speedometer and temperature gauge is, isnt working also the front window control lights don't work.

I dont know if i messed it up when i was trying to pull out my old rad. fan relay or if i messed something up in putting the incompatible window switch on the car ( i read online someone had a similar problem after trying to change their switch). Am i going to need a new dimmer switch, i checked all the fuses (i think) and none seem blown, when i turn the car to the 2nd mode the lights where the cassette and cd goes turns on but once i turn on the car all the way it goes out. SOMEONE please! help me im new to cars and just so many things are happening back to back
