ok so i got an 01 maf for my 02 on the way, any comments about this setup, im not really a noob when it comes to engines, so i was just wondering if anyone could give me their experienced opinion, is the fact that a 3.5l will draw in more air than a 3.0l? and does it give the same output signal throughought the rev range even thought its a different engine? any performance decrease?

But you will need to read this prior to install.

It's the same sensor, so there is no voltage calibration curve to fit.

I got a quick question I hope is nothing serious, but for the last month or so, that is getting coolder (I don't know if it is related or not) but after I start the car, let it warm for 2-3 mins (as always do), now after a few seconds of start moving (forward or backward) I hear this gas discharge sound just once, does not matter if the A/C was on or off, before I start the car.
Any ideas? should I worry??

Could possibly be wrong watt bulb. Double check to see if all bulbs are correct and don't forget about the 3rd brake light

the snow can get pretty bad around here,I think the smaller rim will help me in the snow to be honest.
is going down to the 15 to small tho? or should I just drop to the 16?
im putting a winter tires on them not an allseason

17 seems like a good size for the winter. Those who have aftermarket brake kits cannot go smaller than a 17", so, again, this is where we go w/ either 17 or 18.
I had 16's on my '99 4th gen, with all season tires. And depending on the tires, they were great in the snow. The BF Goodrich Traction T/A's 215/55/16 could get me through everything. I park in Cambridge, MA on the street for work, and on a snowy day i would come out of work and have a 18" high plowed bank between the street and my car. Would go right through it most of the time. On rare occasions it would take me 2 tries (try once, back up, and go right through the second time)
I havent had a winter yet in my '03 with 17's.

What year? If 5th gen, you can go 15 inches, but 16 inch minimum for 5.5th gens (w/ no BBKs of course). If cost is an issue go the smallest diameter you can. I got a cheap set of 16 inch steelies off an 05 Alti and couldn't be happier.
Also, make sure you get the appropriate tire size to keep the outside tire diameter (along the edge that contacts the road) the same as stock unless you want it to mess with your odometer.
If you dont care about the odometer, remember that a smaller tire diameter will lower the clearance of the car. It will also cause the same height snow to contact the tire at a more horizontal angle, making it more difficult to get through.

I have always used OEM brake pads, but decided to upgrade to Hawk HPS. I payed around $135 for front and rears. The total is significantly more than the OEM's I usually buy. I know these are much better pads, but did I over pay?

i tried doing a search for the best Intake for a 5th gen but the links were all broken. I also was wondering how much a new OEM nissan starter was? i think i over paid a lot i paid $340 for a new one. thanks for your help
Hi all, first post. I'm not sure if this question has been done to death, tried the search... anyways, I want to remove the MAF from an '01, is the easiest way to remove the air filter box with the MAF attached? seems like removing the MAF is quite tricky without doing so.... anyone done this?
Thanks in advance.
Thanks in advance.
^^^^^^
No it will be much easier to remove the whole airbox and intake resonator to take the Maf out. just the clamp on the throttle body and about 4-5 bolts and it will pull right out. of course unplug the the Maf sensor wire too.
