**UPDATE** NOS 2k2

Well I practically had my complete 70 shot installed on the car, until we ran into the fuel pump and regulator problem.. Being that they are both located in the gas tank we were at a loss.. So we contacted NOS and they offered to free of charge, send me all the parts that I would need to make it a WET kit, in exchange for all the parts of the DRY kit that I would no longer need.. Hopefully in the end it will work out.. I will keep everyone posted.. The main reason for this post is to let everyone know how happy I was with the service of NOS.. I have some pictures I can post if you all want, but it isnt quite complete...

Re: **UPDATE** NOS 2k2

So what you're saying is that the dry kit doesn't work with the 5th gen? or just the 2K2?

Mind me asking what kit you got and what you paid? How much is the install?

Where'd you get the gauges?

Sorry for the zilion questions!

Isn't it true that a wet kit is better than a dry one?

Did you buy a Tranny cooler and Dons VB mod. I would think that those are a must on an auto running a 70 shot! BTW, your car looks sweet, cant wait to see it in person!

Wet kit = BOOM on the Maxima. Do not run wet. The fuel can not get into the engine properly through the manifold.

Dry kit, upgrade the fuel pump like everyone else with a 300z or walbro.

the problem with adding a better fuel pump is there is no retun line on 2k2 so you cant control the fuel presure just when you need it you will run high pressure all the time a wet kit should be safe at 4k and up

For some reason I do not believe there is no return line that you said. They orginally said that about the 2k-2k1 and then somehow people found it. Maybe its just hidden and you can't find it?

But I don't see why a bigger fuel pump needs a return line anyways, it pushes the fuel up front harder.

the 2k2 fuel system is a retun less system it runs at 52psi all the time. bigger fuel pump on inlet will up fuel pressue all the time. not just when you need it.

there has been someone else that tried to install NOS on a 2k2 and said that same exact thing! go to www.freshalloy.com and read a post that is titled something like just for you guys or something..... this guy took his entire engine apart and took pictures of it all and showed where there is no fuel return line...... it will be back probably 5 pages or so! it is a good thread to read!

will

exactly i read into this in my ESM and found out that you have to run a wet kit. on the 2k2 maximas and the way the itnake runners are set up, you can safely run a wet kit after the changeover at 3800rpms. 2k2's will like the wet kit. let me know some of the details and pics cus next year if i'm keeping the car i'm gonna do something crazy for power

Damn that guy is nuts taking his new engine apart already!!

Anyways, this brings up the topic why Stillen axed the SC for that car.

You need a return fuel line for the SC. Without one no SC

That explains it.

Boooo hisss boooo

Well this really sucks. I thought on a dry shot all you are doing is spraying some NOS into the intake. Are they saying a 70 shot is too big of a dose without some sort of fuel enrichment? What about a 50 shot? I would think a Maxima would be able to handle a 50 without any added fuel.

Who knows on the 2k2 VQ, but on the 2k1 50shot would be fine.
