How much did you pay? *New car shopper*
I don't know what the incentives are but I wouldn't pay no more than that because re-sale on these is just horrible.
used 2010's have already lost 10k in value and still not selling. 2009's in base S trim with about 40k miles is running at 19K and nobody will touch it untill it hits 18K, and that's CPO as well.
I've been watching the 2009+ maxima market the past 3 months and there has only been one that sold, it was a 2009 CPO base S with 45k miles at about 18,500 +TTL and fee's.

I still see peoe posting SV+tech and all the goodies, a $39,000 car, for like 32,000. I know someone said back a few pages to add on a couple thousand to what they are saying. I know I didnt get the best deal, but I also turned over a lease with 18 months left, didn't put 5,000 Down, 15,000 miles. $379 a month, got the s for a little over invoice 28,xxx
How do you watch the 2009+ maxima market? I thought only dealerships can do that through access to the sales figures in the auctions.

From Edmunds.com road test
Comfort
We had the opportunity to drive a pair of Maximas: one with the Premium package and the one discussed in this road test with the Sport package. The Sport's 19-inch wheels and sport suspension produced a frequently jarring ride on Los Angeles' pockmarked streets and highways, while not providing any significant handling improvement over the 18-inch wheels and regular suspension found on the SV Premium. In fact, the Premium produced better skid pad and slalom speed numbers at our test track. We therefore don't recommend the Sport package and suggest the regular SV instead. At the same time, if you are willing to sacrifice ride quality for a better-handling sedan, the Infiniti G35 fits that bill perfectly.

No better handling and rougher ride according to their tests. The standard suspension is a little on the firm side...imo. I agree on the leather seats, fortunately my wife does also. However, we have got some grief over the pinkish stitching on my black cloth seats from daughters

I have the sport and drive on NYC streets daily. It is not bad at all, maybe because the car they were driving was new, after a few miles. my suspension lightened up and now it is pretty comfy, This suspension is not jarring by any means.
i would have to agree that the suspension isnt bad since ive driven my buddies 2010...especially on the old section of the 110fwy in our area...so fun...
ill see what i do...cloth is just simpler to maintain...leather here in cali...no bueno...

I am thinking about purchasing a used 2009 Nissan Maxima SV in Super Black. It has 15,000 miles and is the SV model with no extra addon packages. Ive negotiated with the dealer to $23,500 plus tax and fees. What do you guys think, should I go for it?
yea. thats a really good deal. U will love the car
I am a very aggresive car shopper, i got three quotes from some high volume reps, after walking out on two. The prices before tax on an 11 sv with Sport and Tech ranged from 33,600 to 34,100. I payed 33,600 on a car that had a sticker of 39,400. Not a great deal IMOP, but fair for the market.
Just to add on my car buying experience, the dealers were more aggressive on the 2010! There is 1500 more in incentives from nissan on the 2010's. So on a 2010 SV/Sport,Tech you could probably get for 31,000's fairly easy + sales taxes. If anyone would like to know how to get an agressive quote PM me I have flipped about 5 brand new cars in last 5 years lol.... I got a 2004 blazer zr2,Subaru legacy GT, Honda Fit,Toyota Camry, Nissan Quest, And now the maxima lol.... well thats six but you get the point.
I am looking at used 2009 Maxima SV's with add-ons. I came across a black-on-black 2009 Maxima SV with Premium, NAV, and Spoiler added on. 47k on the motor. Dealer had an "advertised price" of 27800, an online price of 25900, and I got them to come down to 25000 before saying I'd call them back in a few days if I definitely want it. Should I try to get more off or is this a good deal considering the mileage/add-ons?
Also, do you think it's bad to get a Max with this many miles? I assume they'll stay together pretty well and last for a long time, just like previous Max's. This is a tough choice.

Hey guys I've been lurking around the forums for a while, finally thinking about buying one. I went to the dealer today in nyc and got a price of 30,500 after taxes and everything on a brand new 2011 sv with cold package but no tech with 0% apr. My question is, given the area that i live in should i jump on that deal or could i get it for even lower? Thanks in advance guys.

If this has premium and the tech package than its probaly closer to a 9,000 difference. You would have to find the sticker price new because nissan changed up their packages on the maxima's. That's a tough choice man. If the car is certified also than you are getting a great deal.

Hello all new to the forum and in the market for a new vehicle. Really looking into a barely used 2010 maxima SV with sport package in crimson black. Its got 3,400 miles and there asking $28,311 for it. Kinda random figure, but wondering what you all think. I haven't begun to haggle yet, but was thinking more around $26,000. I will be trading in a 2008 toyota tacoma 4 door SR 5 pick up and hope to get around $20,000 for it. Thanks in advance.
In the Market
Hello all!
Great resource indeed and tons of info!
Can anyone suggest a fair OTD price for a '09 and '10 (S) and (SV) model? I'm in Dallas/Ft Worth area and I'm seeing dealers asking anywhere from $21K-29K. Mileage tends to be anywhere between 18K-29K.

I have seen some dealer 2010's demo SV base models advertising around $28,000. 47,000 is alot of miles IMOP for a 2009. If your budget is strict and your trying to stay within a certain payment range then you will save around $7,000 vs a brand new one. You have to weigh if its worth it to you to drive a car that you have no clue how it was driven/cared for, which is what happens anytime you buy a used car off of a dealer. $7000 for two years and almost fifty thousand miles. I would rather pay a little bit extra to have the piece of mind that the car was mint.

AND EVERYONE IS RIGHT. I FREAKING LOOOOOOOOOOOVE THIS CAR. Its awesome having Lexus/BMW owners ask what it is and how much i paid and watching their face. The interior BLOWS people away on top of that

First things first, I have always SUCKED at car buying, and never hold out as long as I could or should.
Bought the first '11 the dealer had, that just happened to have EVERYTHING I was looking for. Crimson Black Premium, Charcoal, fully loaded.
With the dealer addons (N2 Tires, LoJack or some such thing, blah blah) sticker was 42,900. Got the dealer to 39,000, which according to Edmunds, was still lower than the average for a 2011.
Also, I still owed 4k on the 09 Altima I got during clunkers. But, as far as I see it, it was WELL worth it. LOVE THIS CAR.
