How much did you pay? *New car shopper*
I think the price you get depends on where you live. Here in the DC suburbs, I think people tend to lean more towards the luxury brands if they are going to drop over $30k on a car, I am not sure how well the Maxima sells in my area, but I don't see many of them on the roads. Jump on Auto Trader and start by getting 3 Internet quotes and just negotiate from there. That's all I did. One more thing, let the dealer know that you are aware of the $1000 rebate. Many times the dealer will try and hold that rebate from you for themselves after they give you special pricing, don't let them. Always be willing to walk out of the dealer unless you get your target price after incentives. Honestly, if I didn't get the price I was looking for a few weeks, I was just going to wait until the Summer and buy a 2011 when the 2012 models came out, which is what you might want to do if you can wait. Sure, the car will be a model year older, but who cares if it has zero miles on the odometer.

I was going to wait until the 2012 came out as well, but I got the price I was looking for, so I pulled the trigger on the S model. I bought mine from Chantilly Nissan NissanMaxi, so we are almost neighbors, I am right across the Potomac river in Sterling, Va.
SJPerformance, the one thing I did consider since I wanted to keep the price below $30k with taxes, tags, etc. and I originally wanted an SV, was to buy used. I saw many Maxima SV certified models advertised here in the DC area for around the $25k to $26k range in the 10-12k mile range. You may want to consider getting an Internet price from a Nissan dealer here in DC and fly up for a few hundred dollars to close the deal and then drive the car back. I think it is something like a 17 hour drive to Miami. It may be worth it for you in order to save a few grand. BTW, I didn't think that Maximas would sell that well in Miami. The last time I was down there on business, all I saw were Ferraris, Bentlys and Lambos.

good idea. im guessing when you came to miami you must have stayed by south beach or coral gables or brickell area..cuz yes thats all you see there...bmw benz bentleys etc. and in miami im noticing you dont see much maximas. i see more lexus is/g35/g37/acuras tsx and rl. not sure why...you get more with a maxima. or maybe people think at the end of the day it is still a nissan. i really like nissans. very reliable. i ditched honda in 05 when i got a new nissan titan 05...then in 08 a nissan altima. and last month i got my wife a 2011 rogue sv. now in miami you see tons of camrys/altimas/accords/rogues/ everywhere and everyday. one dealer offered me 33,299 OTD on 11 maxima sv/sports since nissan giving extra $500 for presidents day weekend. and in order to use my VRU from nissan i have to buy new not used. i plan to go to that dealer tommorrow. maybe i can push to 33k or less. im more inclined to just wait and buy 09/10 used maxima by the last quarter of this year. we'll see.....

so i now have for a 2011 SV/sports package/white exterior/black leather...$32,500 OTD... 1.90 APR at either 5 or 6 years. i can take either. this is in pembroke pines florida...about 15 minutes away from Miami...LoL 55 miles away from my house
Just brought home my 2011 SV with cold and monitor package for $30,880 plus tax and tags. I waited a few extra days for the President's Day cash. I played two dealers in the market off of each other. There may have been a little more in the deal if I went to the well one more time, but it was getting tiring. Salesmen gotta eat too, I guess.
Go for it!!! Try to get the monitor package, only 700 extra, and u get a color screen 2gb hard drive, back up cam and the audio video outputs in the center console.
S Model
I'm also in the DC metro area. I got my 2011 Maxima S with splash guards and floor mats for 26000 (27500 less the 1500 rebate credit) - Mystic Jade with charcoal interior. The salesman at Passport Nissan also recommended Auto Essentials in Rockville that did an excellent job installing leather interior (with the red stitching like the factory leather) for 1100. So, for 27100 I picked up a new Maxima with leather. I couldn't be more pleased!
There is also a lease loyalty of $2000 in addition to the $1500 in some areas. I am checking NJ dealers and am finding SV models for $239.00 with only 1st payment and a 595.00 bank fee at a couple places and the lease loyalty and cash rebates are being combined in some areas. Hoping to find something close to this deal in December, if so will lease a new one and if not my 2009 has only 19k and I really like it.
Where are you located? For comparison, my selling dealer had my car and three other identically-equipped '11s for $33,882 before TTL. MSRP on all of them was $39,710. That deal also included 0% financing.
Yeah, I would see if I could get them to come down a little more. $29.5k might be a little bit of a stretch, but it can't hurt to try. Tell them that others are getting deals on '11s that are within $1,200 of their price on a '10.
So fully loaded for $32000 OTD? What was the actual selling price? That's crazy.
in the southern cali area, I've seen a CPO with 41k miles go as low as 19000 plus tax and fee's. I've seen a non cpo with 41k miles go as low as 18,000 plus tax and fee's. these are non negotiable prices...both are S base models.
so I guess another 2-3k for a SV would make it sensible.

I bought a 2009 Maxima a month and a half ago...the day after I bought it, the paddle-shifters stopped working. For the past month, Nissan USA engineers have been working on it, but have not been able to fix it.
Three days ago, the dealership called me. They replaced my 2009 Maxima with a brand new 2011 Maxima SV with the Sport package for the trouble that I went through. I still had to pay a little bit more than originally, but I believe that 29.5k when all was said and done was extremely generous of Nissan.
